Location Testing results

Any wireless network will be pathetic. There is no consistency and if you want a reliable connection, rather go ADSL (if you can)
 
I would love to use ADSL. But Telkom is pathetic and won't connect me.

But for such an excellent signal this network is a shame.

Don't know if you can blame the 8ta network as such - maybe you're just not in a covered area? Just ran a test to see if there were network issues and here's my result: http://www.speedtest.net/result/1721250647.png
 
If I am not in a covered area how do I get 53dBm signal strength measure whilst connected to the 8ta network. 53dBm is beyond what is normally considered excellent and I get completely crap speeds. The network has problems in certain areas. You are not connecting to the same tower as me so just because you have good speeds doesnt mean there are problems with the network. I have been having this fight with 8ta for the past 5 months and they sent out a techie once, who confirmed there was an problem and that new towers would solve my problems. Back then I had poor signal strength, 90-105dBm. Now it looks like these new towers are online but the quaility is still pathetic.
 
Stay on their case sooner or later you will get some one that knows what they are doing in 8ta

Maybe obvious question but are you on the 8ta only towers Promotion and not the normal piggy back on MTN edge service?
