@Murdoc, there was a period i was really excited, then EA got it, then i saw it morph towards a wow clone, then I gave up. I will try it sometime, will focus on WoTLK for now tbh

What do you mean "focus on WoTLK" ? What's there to focus on ? I'm pretty sure we won't see Wrath before Xmas.

Rumor is the shops will get it around the 4th of November but there is no PTR out yet, its gonna take 2 months more if you ask me doubt blizzard will even hit the x-mas market.

We got a release date finally? Am I allowed to pee my pants?

not quite yet :o

It does make note that once the Russian free migrations are done, they will be prepping the servers for WoTLK release. This I would assume is the patch noted with all the changes. So I'm assuming this is the last patch before WoTLK is launched.

This is the first official notice or mention about WoTLK since the media release.

Eish! Where are my manners.

Soz to all you Shard folks. Hope you all find good homes in other guilds.

Has the official release dates been announced ?
If its just rumours at this point in time... it should be treated as such. I remember last time the TBC was suppose to be launched... all dates pointed to End Oct, sadly it only made it months later.

I still think there is a lot work to be done. There is class balancing going on almost every day still. Just have a look @ MMO champion on a daily basis. The beta testing has to close first... And then there will be a period of code-freezes, last minute bugs to be fixed etc. I think we are still a few months away to be honest. However out of a business point of view it would make sense to get it in the stores before Christmas since its a prime time of the year.

Oh that, you should see the QQing on my home realm forums cause we where not one of the destination realms, tbh I hope blizz just nuke kz and allow us to bugger off elsewhere....

Pant's peeing postponed

Well Blizzard is releasing a content patch , which i assume is gonna be BIG one within the next few weeks/days. It's basically a preparation patch before Wotlk and i'd give it at least another month or 2 before Wotlk actually hits [add a month to that for us SA suckers to get it in stores if blizzard remains as idiotic with online purchasing a key from THEM as with Burning Crusade] . The content patch will include all the changes that affect Pre-Wotlk [items,skill trees etc]

http://www.wowinsider.com/2008/09/10/background-downloader-primed-for-content-patch/
We're expecting all that content they've already promised, which includes:

* New class spells and talents
* Stormwind harbor
* Barbershops
* New Arenas
* A built in Guild Calendar
* New Hunter pet skills
* Inscription
* No more Zul'Aman bears

So yea while i guess you'd be able to focus on -that- very soon, it's still not Wotlk. You'll still not be able to actually level to 80 or create a death knight etc.

Go read on the official forums about these servers. It sounds like only the 4 servers that is being cleared out will be prepped for Wotlk, maybe some aditional test servers. It does not really mean that we have an expansion soon. Would be nice though!
The new patch downloader that was installed yesterday makes me a bit more optimistic though. Atleast we could have 3.0.0 in a few weeks time to play around with.
Some game companies have a release date available already, but there were no official notice yet.
