Hi Peeps,

Looking for another ISP.
I'm a gamer (console) and have the next-gen already on pre-order. I am looking for a good 10mbps account and line.
ISP's tried before are Axxess [MTN] and Webafrica [I.S.] (busy trying to leave).
I use roughly 300GB - 350GB a month.

Are there any recommendations or suggestions?

Thanks.

Afrihost, OpenWeb, RSAWeb, MWeb?

Not sure what you are going to gain out of this thread: show me an ISP and I'll show you a legion of complainers.

Afrihost seems to be pushing good prices and specials these days but may suffer from being over subscribed. Worth a look though I reckon.

Afrihost Business Uncapped 1Mbps :D

Pretty darn happy to be honest.

Ok, maybe i should have said recommendations only... however it will most likely come to the same thing i suppose.
I was thinking RSAweb next or Telkom. I also saw Nexus, but they also using IS but with a 7-day roll over (I think).

Afrihost or Openweb. Stay clear from mweb.

Either of these.

I enjoyed my time at Openweb but the constant need to email support put me off. Their accounts are excellent when they work.
Afrihost has a pretty stable network overall and their support is top notch.

I've been with Cybersmart for the past 7 years, and overall I'm pretty happy with what I'm getting and what I'm paying (uncapped 1Mbps line). I don't go through as much data as the OP, so I can't speak to that.

Only had one major hiccup about a year ago, where I almost switched ISP's, but in the end they came through.

Thanks peeps, I'm trying a trial account with Afrihost now. I'm still monitoring my situation with Webafrica (incase it improves).
The business accounts look interesting, but i'll continue my investigation and update you guys with my decision.

This is GOOD advice ...

MWEB have an imaginary limit that kicks in and then they throttle, and your slow down ... slower than a 1400 Corolla with 5 guys in, and then you get the standard response, and then when you want to leave its worse than divorce or the death of a spouse.
