So I know the budget is small but I need to recommend a friend in SA who is looking to get a tablet.

I've come up with the following two options:

Proline:
http://www.takealot.com/computers/proline-b743dc-7-dual-core-android-tablet-wifi,30597518
Product Page: http://www.proline.co.za/our-products/tablet/B743DC/technical-specs/#product

MSI:

Product Page: http://www.msi.com/product/windpad/Primo_73.html#?div=Specification

What I can see are the differences:

Proline:
Has bluetooth
"Carry case included"
80g heavier

MSI:
More powerful battery
8GB more built in space
80g lighter

Personally I would go for the MSI, as I consider Proline to be a low quality brand.

Which would you buy and why?

I've got a Proline 9.8" Tablet and I'm very happy with it. My honest opinion though. Go for the MSI. The Proline takes ages to charge and with an inferior battery this will be frustrating as well.

<hijack>I would also like a cheap tablet . Don't even want 3g as I would like to stick it to the wall to go nice with my planned home automation project . Any really cheap ones ? </hijack> :P

+1 for the MSI - I would stay clear of Proline; just too many issues in the past and as |tera| said the battery will drive you nuts.

What's your budget on the wifi only tablet?

Had a a Proline, it gave battery problems after a month and was dead within 3 months :( .

As cheap as possible . Preferably from a company i.e I could buy more than one and could buy in the future again as I am looking to do it commercially . Know a lot of rich people that would find it cool . But for my own project < R500-1000
