Looking for help

I don't know what has happened to my desktop PC. I run Xp and Ms Office 2007. Recently I am unable to open Jpegs attached to email or existing ones in My Pictures. I can only preview them.
Any ideas will be much appreciated.

Any ideas will be much appreciated.

This problem usually occurs when you install a third party picture viewer, and later uninstall it.

Possible Solution:
Right click on a .jpg image in your "My Pictures" folder, click on "Open With.." and select "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer".
Be sure to check off the box which says "Always use the selected program to open this type of file" and click OK.

You'll probably need to repeat this for other image formats such as .jpeg .bmp .gif .png etc.

Another more advanced solution is to access the list of file associations.
You can find this by clicking "Tools", then "Folder Options" from any folder,
or you can find "Folder Options" in the Control Panel by switching to
"Classic Mode" or by clicking on "Appearance and Themes"

+1 sounds like a file extension association issue.
