I would to chat to you as i would think if your on this forum you have at least a functioning Brain. :D

and why do we have to struggle with Telkom , freaking the last mile is a joke , I'll put in my own last mile just let me have the option FFS. :twisted:

I can make calls, a can receive Call but I don't Want TOO - I just want my ADSL TO SYNC :cry: .{vented - feeling better kinda }

why do we have to suffer so..... WHY
 
Good luck death. I moved my line to WebAfrica and soon after it could also not sync. I begged and pleaded that I want a Telkom technician to come to my house, but to no avail. Now I've been trying to cancel my adsl line since the 8th.

It's impossible. I sometimes see Telkom technicians on my way to work. So I know they exist. But actually getting one to do something... I have yet to see that happen.

The problem seems to have started last Sunday morning 9:50 exactly.

It's a nasty feeling when your project Uploads fail after a long night of coding.

But the i don't even want them at my house , i just want them to first reset the dsl port then phone and ask if it works, then i give feedback etc.
not that hard to do i think.

I think its a lack in there process & procedures and unaccountability of there actions.
 
1. Disconnect your POTS Filter & Phone and check your Attenuation & SNR on the router.
2. Call 0800 375 375 or 10215 and ask them to perform a LTS line test for you.
3. Use the same numbers as above and ask them to reset the port on the DSLAM for you.

2&3 can be done while you are on the line.

Step 1- cant even see Attenuation & SNR - filter replaced / Cables replaced still no luck.
Step 2 to 3 , will try this again and again until it functions again.

Good luck, Been calling them since the 3'rd.

After lots of complaining (and them "fixing" the problem about 5 times already) I got a call again from them today. "This is blahblah from Telkom, I hear your line is not working" Ask him to read the reference logs, "Can't" so after another 20 minutes explaining he says he will ask his boss what to do about it.
 
HAHA ok so i did a walk in after no a long day at work , got the help desk on the line the quick way and got the port reset , got home , and Internet she is working !! but no dial tone :whistle:

Atleast i'm Typing this off my own pc using my own dsl line , im a happy'ish camper.

round 2 : try to get voice and dsl running at the same time.
