well i have the antenna now so will be testing it tomorrow and let you all know the outcome. i did walk around the inside of my house last night pointing it in different directions,and found 2 different towers that way. the 1 gave me an increase of 7 dbi so lets see what happens when its outside :-). Cell C rep told me i actually have 3 towers in my area but only 2 are 3g enabled.

1 thing i can say is that the service and feedback i'm now receiving from the Cell C rep is way beyond what i expected. keep it up and you'll keep a lot more customers happy (provided we have signal of course) :-)
 
can someone please tell me why my posts keep getting deleted????????

ok found them but they have been moved... surely they should stay here so the other guys who are having the same issues that i had can get answers on how to solve their problems.

basically now, the guys who have subscribed to this thread will have no idea if the antenna worked as this is where they are posting?

make sense?

Had the same issue a couple minutes ago, Glipsie. My connection went to 7mbps and then nothing and then local came back and then international.
 
I see there is still no response to my message posted on 30/6/11. I am a seriously unhappy camper as far as Cell C goes.
 
Cell C down again, no 3G (any blue lights on modem, just flashing green), and no connection :

Full details have been forwarded to Cell_C, the location is 600m due North of Wanderers cricket ground.

Are there any prospects of Cell C becoming reliable in this area, or do I just give up ?

I have the same issues in northriding (randburg). All other details are elsewhere in thread. As soon as my data period is over, I'm considering adsl. Enough is enough.

Since 11am this morning i've only had EDGE.
 
Anyone experiencing low to no throughput this morning?

Is anyone experiencing low to no throughput after about 1 minute of stable connectivity this morning?

I got 2 modems here E272 and E220. Got meself Revskills. By the end of today naybe tomorrow I'm either going to get a flippen cell c card to work in it or I'm going to sit with two busted modems.

First ISPs run a network. They got a couple of guys who mad it to highschool so they can run a network in AFRICA so so.
What do they know about making mobile phones? Sweet bokorol. This new crap locking the phones thru branding has turn a good mobile phone into a piece of crap. I have branded Huwei modems. I went to Huwei site downloaded their software and flashed my modems with it. I must tell you their dashboard is a hundred times better than the crap we get with it. One setting the bastards locked away nicely was the band setting. With huwei you can set it to all the modes available and voila my cell c card now works in my e220 perfectly.
Now back to your problem make sure your on the correct band. Do not set in on one where it jumps up on down because 3G to Hspa to HUSPA to "4G' it drops the connection. Also if your phone got a UMTS setting do not put it on dual mode put it on UMTS only. Other problem the networks haven't fixed yet is whenyour downloading or you use less of your bandwith boing 3g boing HUSPA boing my 85 percent download of a 300mb file goes to zilts and start all over again over that little drop connection. Now who must pay for that lil stupid thing moi. I have to perform a ddos attack on someones server to let it stay on one connection.
ISPs already making a crapload of money out of us plus this huge ping packets that we must pay for where we see about 60 percent of that data just for some simulated crap internet. And the simulation is pathetic. I have to tunnel my way where I wanna go cause if the keep alive is less than 300ms the bloody thing goes over again and loses connection. STOP BEING BLOODSUCKERS AND USE YOUR MONEY YOUR HIDING UNDER YOUR BED AND IMPROVE YOUR BLOODY COVERAGE AND GET RID OF THE CRAP GPRS!

Low / Zero Throughput

This is a follow on to my previous post a few weeks ago... I am noticing a definite trend in the low throughput issue - it's always in the evenings and on weekends - during the day in the week the speeds are great, sometimes on the weeked the speeds are great, but always in the evening it just falls apart.

I think there are serious capacity issues on this network, there are too many people in my area who have Cell C, and it shows, cause when they are all home the quality of the network degrades.

Today during the day I was getting 75ms ping, above 9Mbps download and above 2Mbps upload... Now, I am getting this: http://www.speedtest.net/result/1378341176.png

Its not like this happens every now and again, its EVERY day... Great during the day, shocking at night, great during the day, shocking at night...

The network was great since I got the modem, but in the last 2 months it has been shocking - only 4 months left on the contract, will this improve or should I start shopping around for another provider? I see 8ta has a good special on right now :)
 
I HAVE WAY TOO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT CELL C,I REGRET THE VERY DAY I WALKED INTO THEIR STORE AND TOOK MY CONTRACT.LAST MONTH THEY DOUBLE DEBITED AND DAYS LATER SENT AN SMS SAYING THEY ARE SORRY AND WILL BE RETURNING MY MONEY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE ,THREE WEEKS LATER IM SITTING WITH NO MONEY BACK,WHEN I CALL THE GUY WHO IS IN CHARGE OF MY ACCOUNT ,HE FIRST TELLS ME THEIR SYSTEM WOULD NEVER DO SUCH A THING THEN I FORWARD HIM THE SMS AND STILL HE WONT HELP ME,ON FRIDAY HE TOLD ME HE WOULD CALL ME BACK AND HE DIDNT,EKS GATVOL NOW AND WILL NOT TAKE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THESE IDIOTS..

Seems like you joined MyBB for the sole reason to bitch about Cell C, in CAPS nogal. If you only want to complain, HelloPeter is a better option. If you have something positive to contribute, please share it with us. :)

well i have nothing positive to say,i dont see why this bothers you.I am not getting what i expect from them,they are not playing their part.so you slingshot my friend can go eat a dog
