cell c down in midrand since 11:50am
no 3G data service at all, completely down.
not the usual yoyo connection, none, gone.
using both the 24gb and 60g modems


ok back on around 14:10

Getting constant disconnects in Melrose Arch, Jhb. What the heck is going on? First my ADSL conks, now my Cell C? WTF?
 
is there a problem with Cell c network, cant seem to surf, keep getting network failure
 
why was my post regarding the Cell C downtime this afternoon deleted?
anyhow cell c data service was down from around 11:30 - 14:00 in Midrand.
Down again this evening at around 20:10 until about 20:35 - so just a little hiccup there.
Not happy broadband at the moment
 
Cell C connection just drops

Hi i have the cell c hspa+ network and the speeds are awesome but after a few minutes my connection justs drops, i use it to play online so i cant afford for the connection to drop.Any idea's please as it is getting abit frustrating
 
This is driving me mental! Connection works on an off for past few days despite full signal! Often unusable for hours.

Geez how long is it going to be down in Cape Town for? I'm sick of vodacom Edge, can't you give an guesstimated up time or something? So I can do something else in the meantime I'm so damn sick of vodacom gprs.

The connection seems to have been really crappy (you could get a few hours of WCMDA at most before you're forced to use edge) this month and it just got worse and worse until it was totally awful. I'm in different locations in CT all over the place and it's the same thing, last month it was pre.
 
The Last two days or so i have been experiencing problems with the network especially with bbm (messages dont go through or 1 out of 5 messages will go through), i have also noticed quite a few times on the call, suddenly the call will cut.

its becoming very frustrating now:mad:

Any1 else experiencing these problems?
 
how would I make my speedstick go onto 900mhz...how do I check?

Same here now, but it was OK up to 1 hr ago. It connects but no throughput, pages won't open at all...:mad:
VC to the rescue again.

EDIT: OK back again.

Pretoria equestria area has an upload speed problem. Download at 3.06Mb but upload is 0.07Mb. It creates problems with Skype as the upload speed is too low for a good conversation.
 
I HATE CELL C 3G! URG!

When I connect with Cell C 3G I wait forever for the page to load and then eventually it says page cannot be displayed. I then switch to 2G only and it works better. URG!
 
mmmm it seems it is my freakking white modem that causes the crap! I am using my sim in a old modem with EDGE and it is working ok for browzing. Much snappier than what I thought it would be. But as soon as I put my sim back into my white modem the crap starts and I get no throughput even though my white modem says that it is on HSDPA (cyan light). Switched it to 2G only and still the same problem. Pop it back into the old spare modem and EDGE works fine. I cant test it with 3G in old modem cause it does not support 900mhz. Damn!!!!!

URG. What do I do now??? Have any of you had problems with E1752 and throughput problems??
 
Go buy the Huawei 367 stick modem from Vodacom, MTN, CellC or 8ta.

Think I saw it at 8ta for R699.
 
Good Morning Mr Cell C Rep....

I still can't do jack with the data on my sim. I phoned your call center last night and they told me that 9 3g towers in the western cape are down.

What happens to my data when the towers is not fixed and it expires on sunday?

The agent basically told me that i have no right to complain because its free data that cell c offers...how can you tell your customer not to complain??? its a service that you guys are supplying, obviously if you dont live up to your name and services that you provide then how can you expect me not to complain?

Anyway, i am in Paarl, Western Cape. Is there anything that you can do to help me? I cant even make a decent phone call, the line cuts every now and then, i pop it into my modem and its stuck on edge...sigh.

Hi , the cell c network seems unstable in my area since yesterday about 4pm cant get any data servives on my balckberry as it swtiches between gsm and edge/3G but mostly since yesterday its on gsm , normally its on edge.
Im in the Donkerhoek area , Gauteng, Pta-East. Signal str -97dBm atm , signal now drops down to SOS service only.
