Low Cars / Modded car thread.

Lies.... they're just crotch rockets..

Real men drive old double cabs and swear at people through their beards...

Dammit you just broke my edit.

I saw exactly this response coming that’s why I changed it.

Better get a Fortuner then to protect my manliness.

Best advice you'll get is don't lower it. Maybe removing that terrible wording on your nice car would be ok as well. Do you realise it makes you look like a wet behind the ears laaitjie?

100%...

Like all the shytty golfs with the "Be Patient I'm Lowered" stickers on the back... generally illicits a response of "Take your piece of shyte off the road if you can't drive it properly because you've fscked it up"...

Future stickers for his car:
Be patient I'm lowered

Exactly this!!!

If you need a sticker you’ve gone and ****ed it.

Can you not read lol? I was asking advice, I got some good feedback and then the rest are all telling me how they prefer their cars to look . Lmao, get outta here Colin..

Quite the opposite.

Everyone was technical and telling you it will destroy your handling and drive ability. You are the one stuck on looks in the face of it being technically inferior.

Lmao I'm done asking advice on this forum, 99% of you guys can't give a reason other than " It looks bad "

Actually most advice was that it looks bad and will make your car unsafe and handle worse. But you’re not here for advice unless it agrees with what you have already decided to do.

Hi guys,

I currently drive a BMW M135i and I'd like to get it dropped by around 20-30mm for a better look.

I've currently received 2 quotes, one is for new springs from Hi-Q for R4000 that apparently rivals H&R springs and another for R3000 to press my springs from a different tyre shop , and according to the salesman compressing the springs gives me a softer ride but I'm scared it scrapes against the tyre and isn't good for the cars suspention.

Which one should I opt for? Any help would be appreciated greatly, thanks guys.

If you going to do it , do it properly.Get some decent coilovers such as BC or KW.Expect to pay upward of 15k just for the coilovers. If its not in your budget then dont do it.

Given that she was prepared to get the springs compressed on the advice of some random Tyre place... I doubt she wants to spend anywhere near the kind of crown required to do this job properly...

Also, the best option would be to fit airbag suspension like is so popular in the states... then at least she gets the looks when the car is parked, but it cna have a normal ride height when its in motion not to piss on all the other road users batteries.

Ive lowered my daily drive , running on bc racing coilovers but had to roll fenders.Doesnt help that i have super wide tyres but thats the price you pay for stance :crylaugh:

Do you have a "Be patient, I'm lowered!" sticker? and crawl over speed bumps like they're trying to assault your car?

Nope , but iam sure the laarnies in their suv's get upset in the umhlanga area , where there are stupid amounts of speed humps.

I will find you one of the days then...and just drive over you like a Monster Truck :D

**EDIT**

To be totally frank, some cars really do benefit looks wise, and maybe handling, when lowered.. but I would never willingly lower something like an M135.... its a pocket rocket and the BMW engineers are amongst the best in the game, so why would I screw with their work... I would be wary of any small shop that thinks they can better it....

This stance thing is daft, to be honest. Cars are made to be driven, not parked- it's literally their reason for existing.

You wont miss me , guaranteed. If you see a blue blobeye wrx, with a "stupid" personalized plate prowling the umhanga area thats me :D

Had our Palio's engine overhauled at a backyard mechanic (who did a good job btw).

Told us he also had a dropped car, but sold it off as it gave too much problems, fuel economy gone to pot and tyres getting chewed etc etc.

Wish we could see what the OP's doing so far - after he got his car dropped/slammed.
