You are missing the point, it happened and ghana had the chance to seal the deal.

They never did simple as that. If kingston had not moved forlan would not have scored, so if that never happened they would have won 1-0, you cannot think along those lines. Ghana would have snapped your hand off if you offered them a last minute penalty to go through to the semi's before kick off. They missed.
 
LMAO both Fucile and Suarez both attempted their Goal Keeping skills... looks like Suarez won the goal keeping test!

If Gyan had scored the resulting penalty would you still called Suarez a cheat?

Yeah, but that came after Ghana dived and got a free kick. They had a penalty and missed it and lost out on the penalty shootouts. Suarez knew he probably doomed the team
but in some way he saved them after Ghana sucked. Uruguay deserves to go through, Ghana acted like they won the moment they got the penalty and they deserved to lose that game.

The nets were chaos with at least 2-3 defenders standing in the nets, if the ball hit someone else on the arm [unintentionally] then this exact same thing would have happened (the first ghana attempt hit the defender on the legs, so they were lucky it bounced back for them to try again like that) . The only difference here it's obvious suarez raised his hands to block the ball, but it could equally have been hitting him in the face or somewhere on his body which could have resulted in a penalty -anyway- ...and Ghana would STILL have missed it.

All these world cup games have penalty shots that DECIDE THE GAME . This is not new, if you don't take your penalties you lose.

Whether Gyan missed or not, Suarez is still a cheat. I think that in those situations that it should've been a penalty goal. However, those aren't the rules, and Gyan should have done better. I was at the game, Suarez goes down under nothing challenges, he want to cheat his way through the competition, which is a shame, because he is a talented player.

Use of the word "dive" seems to insinuate that what was done there was not in the spirit of the game (we all know diving is against the rules too) yet you defend someone deliberately using his hands to prevent a goal. Interesting. I feel (and yes it is just my personal view) it is merely because it was Ghana that you are taking this stance.

Diabolus... seriously now.... :rolleyes: you know full well that everyone's reaction would obviously have been totally different if it had hit Suarez' face or body! You're being silly. The point is that he deliberately raised his hands above his head, cupped them even, and pushed the ball out of the goal. It did not even bounce off his hands! He "carried" the ball out of the goal! And you will sit here defending him :rolleyes: I'm sorry, if that is how soccer fans roll then I am glad that I have never become one. Give me a game where people have to suffer proper consequences for their actions.

I'm taking the stance because it is the truth. Had he not done something against 'the spirit of the game' Suarez would not have had to do something against it as well.
I love football and also condemn what Suarez did although I'd have done the same.

I know you believe Ghana was cheated out of it, but they had a MUSTSCORE chance and they knew it. Suarez knew he probably doomed his team but somehow Ghana
could not capitalize.
 
When Suarez moves to Man Utd all will be forgiven :D

Why the double standard? is it because you supporting Ghana?

I don't see any of you calling Fabiano a cheat, I don't see any of you called Vidic a cheat, I don't see any of you calling Terry Henry a cheat, I don't see any of you called Eto a cheat (Barca vs Chelsea), I don't see any of you calling Lukovic a cheat and all these players handled the ball...

Sorry, I never got the memo stating that people who do not declare themselves fans of a sport are not allowed to watch the world cup. I'll be sure to pass the message on to the millions who are watching the world cup but don't wear Liverpool scarves the rest of the year.

Well that sums up the mentality of football players and it's fans. I suppose it all stems back to how you were brought up....

My children will continue to be told that it is not about winning or losing but about how you play the game.

I'm not going to die if I miss a soccer match. I also do not support some random English football team that I have absolutely no link to. Therefore I'd hardly call myself an ardent devotee.
