The missus used to be a graphic designer and used Coreldraw exclusively. She stopped doing it professionally a few years back, but still has the odd thing she does on occasion. Thing is, we changed over to Mac for most of our machines recently and she has something she wants to design again. Yes, you can buy Corel for Mac but it’s just stupid for the occasional use she wants it for. Illustrator is a good replacement, but I’m not keen on the monthly subscription for something she uses occasionally(I’m talking once every two or three months).

Also, going new means a learning curve, so I’m looking for something that’s easy to get into. Mostly for designing logos and banners. I’ve looked at Sketch as an option, but figured I’d check with what others have tried?

I use Affinity Designer. Great alternative to Adobe, as are their other products Photo and Publisher. Affordable too.

I was looking at that as well, but I believe it has a steep learning curve?

Not really - there are plenty of guides and tutorials available but tbh it's very similar to the, albeit old, version of illustrator I had been using.

Download the trial and give it/them a go. They're fully functional.

Other interesting free Mac alternatives to CorelDRAW Graphics Suite are Vectornator, Apache OpenOffice Draw , Karbon and Luminar
