Mac forums very quiet (Bootcamp prob)

xactly what i was going to suggest - we all know deep down mac are pretty much leading it. The OS superiority war.

In many ways, but still need windows for games, a few apps etc.
So not quite superior to Windows.
Haven't found a reason to use Linux yet, have been reading their threads lately, as the mac section isn't having much action.

Try this droplet out for size - it does all the lifting for you

Thanks, will try a bit later.

Havent bought a PC game since I got a next gen console. In fact I scrapped my bootcamp partition and copied my ||s
images to dvd so they're not taking up hdd space.

I still have a headless pc that I use for skype and a few other things.

Still play games on XP (Will be getting a console when my next 3 games are done.), Samsung phone software (can use iSync on OSX for a few things), MS Money (Quicken for mac is rubbish) and Grabit (Unison doesn't want to auto resume).

Gotten used to iWork now, so don't need Office.

My XP installation has lasted a year now, hardly ever managed 3 months without a format on my old pc's.
Helps if u don't use it much.:)

I'm in OSX 90% of the time.

Yeah - I also use the pc for grabit but mainly because the pc is up and running all the time anyway so I'm looking for things for it to do

Can't get the droplet to work.
R u supposed to drag and drop movies onto the folder or what?
Open the folder - there's application called Movie2iTunes - run it and it will ask you for a location to put the small (couple kb iirc) reference files. Choose a location - close the app.

From then on in you just drag movies onto the application icon.

tx. :o
Working.
Forgot its not a windows app

Edit
U probably already know this this, but
So how do you choose what frame of a movie or television show is shown as the Album Art for a file? Simple. The next time you’re watching a movie, take note of any familiar scenes which [as a whole] are reminiscent of the entire film. Once you’ve identified a frame, quickly pause the movie, right-click or CTRL+click on the video window, and select "Set Poster Frame". The new Poster Frame will then become your Album Art for the currently opened film making it oh so much easier to browse through video collections without having to actually read through titles.

And theres a new version of Safari out

What's the link for Boot Champ? Not finding it on Google and am interested in learning a bit more about it.

Given up on Frontrow... using my PS3 to play iTunes music and Videos streaming from the iMac or Macbook.

Back on the Win boot issue - pressing F8 does not give an option to choose which drive to boot from - just busy d/loading Win updates then I will leave it on the boot screen until I get an error message.

OK, thought it might be worth a try. It's what you do on a normal windows machine when you want to change the boot options. I guess it's disabled with boot camp on a mac.

I've never really involved myself with Bootcamp/Windoze on my machine.

How can I make it possible to view files on my Windows partitiong, in my Finder in OSX?

I need to actually get involved as I need Windows to update my Garmin maps and Nokia Firmware updates....

Would you guys recommend XP PRO SP2 or Vista?

U can use Finder in OSX.

If u have a Fat32 partition u can read and write to it from OSX.
If its NTFS, its read only from the OSX side.

To get to your OSX side from windows you'll want to get hold of macdrive.

Thanx!

Just partitioned. XP PRO SP2 or Vista?

I only partitioned 5GB so I guess it'll be XP?

I'm getting an error.

I partitioned the drive to 5GB, it was set by default, then inserted Windows CD and ran the setup. Machine restarted and is sayin: Disk Error, Press any key to restart.

Is there something i'm doing wrong here?

How far did u get, and do u have XP with SP2 on it?

Yep got SP2.

Do you think it's because I only partitioned 5GB? I'll remove the Windows partition and try it again from the beginning.

Used the Boot Camp assistant. When I boot into Windows it only comes up with that Disk Error.

And i can't type any key to restart so i'm forced to hold down power button.

@#$^@#$% Windows piece of $#%^ software..

I should've just stayed with Mac OS.

Trying again for the 3rd time, if I dont come right i'm not bothering anymore!
