So you want to run it in an virtual environment? How old is the MacBook Air and what do you want to accomplish running SQL?

Its the recent model, i5 4gb ram with ssd. I will get paralell, install windows there and develop from there. I want to start freelancing as a BI developer and wanted to know if the air will be enough for basic development. Its portable, battery lass longer

For development use I would say so yes. It's obviously not meant to be used as a server. I have a new MacBook Air and the performance is simply mind blowing. Especially when you keep in mind the spec sheet. It multitasks like a little BOSS.

It is also good to hear that you intend to invest in Parallels since it's performance is a lot better that the free apps such as Virtual Box.
