Is it just me or are the deals rather lousy for MacBooks right now? Basically I'm looking to get a MacBook on contract which my company will pay for.

The two deals I have seen is the md101 which is rather outdated with Mtn.

Or the MacBook Air from Telkom which they don't have stock of.

The supply outdated MacBooks because the majority of customers don't know better

You can get anything at the iStore with FNB. They only advertise the entry level stuff because they are expensive.

Interesting thanks for this... so I can customize an MB and still get it with FNB ?

iStore doesn't really do custom builds. You can do it, but the waiting time for the import is long and price is high.

Not a Mac Attack

Ya know, I like Apple, but they need to seriously rethink their pricing vs the hardware they give at that price bracket. I work on a Mac and on a PC, and honestly, the only difference is in the OS and the screen. Aside from that my PC, outperforming the Mac, cost 2/3 the price.

With the FNB deal, is it a undercover budget deal on your credit card, or is it a seperate product that doesn't influance your credit card amount?!

With the exception of their trackpads. Bloody well R2/3k worth more than any PC laptops I've ever worked on...

No it's totally separate. A credit card is not required. A Gold Cheque account with monthly turn over of R5000 is though.

Totally agree. The trackpad and the smoothness of the gestures is what makes a Mac, a Mac.

Unfortunately not, I went to iStore, FNB dot store and the branch, you need to have a personal gold account or higher.

That's lame  Businesses would be prime to offer them easier ways to purchase computer equipment.

That's what I've said... I guess they want me to fill a credit app, they want to get intrest or something...

I have been eyeing the MD101 for development purposes (iphone development specifically). Its not going to be my primary machine but what is nice is that I can upgrade the ram and put an ssd in. Mac minis are about the same prices so a laptop would be better. Still cant decide if that is a sensible buy or not? I would love the macbook pro, but by the time I have specced out what I need its going to cost me 32k to 42k. I dont have the monies for that type of purchase.
