Macbook microphone not working

Hi all

I just got a MacBook air m1, had a zoom meeting but they could not hear me from their side... I could hear them clearly.


I went to system preferences - sound-output, unchecked the mute box but still doesn't work.

I even tried a Google meets meeting and same thing, they could not hear me

Is there something else?

I was using zoom in safari web browser, zoom said it doesn't have an app for Mac laptops? I checked on app store on the MacBook too and nothing came up.
Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Check settings —> security & privacy as well. MacOS requires every device to be give permission to use the microphone

You must first send Tim a mail and ask permission and if you have the right to share your voice. There might be a fee involved or sometimes just another gadget.


In other words check that the app has permission to access the mic.
