Mahindra XUV300

Just keep the OEM speakers and refit them if the car ever has to go in for warranty repairs... ;)
Though unless they need to work on the doors, how would they know :). Now to find fitment centers, they don't seem to be as numerous as they were in the past.

Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG to debut on October 15 - Team-BHP

Mahindra is set to unveil a CNG option for its popular XUV 3XO compact SUV, amidst the rising popularity of CNG-powered cars in India.

This would be the fourth powertrain variant for the 3XO, which already offers two turbo-petrols, one diesel, and an electric option.

The CNG variant is expected to arrive with the entry-level 1.2L mStallion TCMPFi turbo-petrol rather than the higher-spec direct injection motor to keep costs down.

Mahindra has a re-engineering job on its hands to accommodate the CNG tank without making the smallest boot in the segment any tinier, so it remains to be seen if they opt for a split setup à la Tata or go with an under-boot setup.

Rising fuel prices have led to increased popularity of CNG models, with several offerings in the compact car and entry-level MUV segments from multiple manufacturers, though the compact SUV segment has only seen it offered with the Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Brezza so far.

The upcoming CAFE-3 norms in April 2027 are an added incentive for Mahindra, as its passenger vehicle portfolio is diesel-heavy and it will need to lean harder on powertrain diversification to meet stringent fleet emission norms.

2026 Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG Review - Team-BHP

Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG Pros

• Same power as the petrol variant! No compromises. A superbly-calibrated CNG system that’s comfortable to drive
• Turbo-petrol engine offers spirited performance in both CNG and petrol modes
• CNG option with factory backing, factory warranty & OEM standards of safety/quality
• Cheap running costs of the CNG and lower CO2 emissions
• Usable boot space, even with the CNG tanks (twin cylinder system)
• A truly premium crossover. Nice build, quality & refinement levels
• Cabin has enough space for 5. Quality-wise too, the interior is satisfactory
• Suspension offers a compliant ride with sorted road manners
• Safety kit includes 6 airbags, ESC, ABS, all-wheel disc brakes, TPMS, integrated gas-leak detection & more
• Equipment such as panoramic sunroof, steering modes, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, connected car features, auto headlamps & wipers, etc.

Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG Cons

• Many Indian cities & towns don’t have CNG pumps. Plus, the queue for a CNG fill-up can be long in metro cities
• Higher maintenance costs & upkeep (overall) in comparison with the regular petrol variant
• Long travel clutch and long throw gear lever are a major put-off in heavy traffic
• No automatic option available at a time when the ATs are fast becoming the preferred choice
• Boot space at 270 litres is less compared to direct rivals
• Edgy & outlandish face design may not be to everyone's liking. Some love it, some don't. It is very polarising
• Light & disconnected steering is the biggest drawback in a competent handling package
• Not available in the top variant and hence misses out on many convenience and safety features. Other missing features include ventilated seats, dead pedal and a full-size spare wheel, among others
• All passengers need to get out of the vehicle while refilling CNG
• Mahindra's after-sales service quality is a hit or miss. Remains a gamble

5 most affordable turbocharged cars in South Africa (2026)

Keen on forced induction in an entry-level car? These are the 5 most affordable turbocharged passenger vehicles on South Africa’s new-car market right now…

Once the preserve of high-end automobiles, forced induction has over the years trickled down to entry-level vehicles, offering added grunt to buyers at the lower end of the market. So, what are the 5 most affordable turbocharged cars in South Africa right now?

Well, before we jump into the list, it’s worth noting that naturally aspirated engines are by design less complex than forced-induction motors – and are thus theoretically more dependable as a long-term ownership proposition (all things being equal, of course).

Still, turbocharged petrol engines bring several benefits, chief among them the delivery of plenty of torque low down in the rev range, lending drivers useful tractability. Forced induction also effectively mitigates power losses at altitude, making such powerplants particularly useful in the thinner air of the Highveld.

Interestingly, the 5 most affordable turbocharged cars are all crossovers imported from India. Keep in mind that we’ve restricted this exercise to the passenger-vehicle segment, excluding a handful of entry-level turbodiesel light-commercial vehicles. In addition, note that pricing is correct in November 2026.
