Major outage at Capitec

I know all banks are ****, hence choose Capitec because one might as well pay R5 per month for the **** than R99+. But this is really ridiculous now. Think I need to go back to paying R99.
No cant let people know im poor.

“Premier Wanker Vegan account” for me baby:love:

Same service just R400

I am now able to login to online banking on PC. The app is still down, however the remote banking pin function in the app is working when trying to login in a browser.

Thats why I just stick to Absa. I know what to expect. End if month when salaries need to te paid they will be offline. And Sundays they do maintenance on the App without giving notice.
Yup:ROFL:The ATM’s always work.

My card has never let me down. Locally and internationally.

I'm sorry everyone, but I think this might be my fault.

This Monday past (1st), the UK company I work for, paid my funds into my Wise account at 5pm.
As usual, I immediately initiated transfer to my Capitec account.
The next day at 1pm, the funds cleared into my account.
Less than 24 hours!!!
Normally, this takes 4-5 working days.

Clearly, this welcome level of efficiency caused a ripple in the Capitec Matrix, leading to a knock on effect, culminating in this full-blown outage.

I just woke up to notifications of a debit order of mine going off...TWICE. Don't know if it's a Capitec problem or the company mistakenly sending the debit request twice.

My Saturday just started on a low, and the sun's not even out yet.

@backstreetboy, what's going on here bro. Everything still working lekker in the VIP lounge? :p

Seriously though, still no word from Capitec why this is happening besides "we are experiencing problems" ?
Not sure using Tymebank now. Beauty of all these free bank accounts that popped up over the last few years.

I only use Tymebank to link as my Google Play Family paying method, with nothing in it.

My problem with these online only bank is the risk when something goes wrong, gets logged out of your account, technical issues, there is noone to go talk to.

Yeah if you don't have a smart ID card I'll also be weary. Joined the beta at the end of 2018 as a homage to @fanie.braai and haven't had many issues.

Used TymeBank since launch. They had their fair share of issues.

They have been pretty stable lately. If you mail them the issues they actually do it.

I like the Kiosk idea. If you need a card or need to change your cellphone number on a Sunday afternoon you can do ot at a kiosk.

Since switching from FNB back then I've been saving money on bank fees.

I have no issues with Tyme or any similar bank. I just wont risk it with large sums of moneys. Personal choice.
