Make DA Circle Bigger!!!

Just over 1 000 000 votes were cast in the Tshwane Metro in total.

IN the 2006 election there was a voter turnout of just over 40%, about 900k votes received out of 4 million valid votes (2x 2 million inhabitants). I won't expect many more than 900k votes this time round, and Pretoria is already over 300k. So probably two thirds to go.

News24 headline is that Thwane is no firmly in ANC control with 54% of the vote counted so far

The headings on News24 are very very misleading. 54% of the votes have not been counted. Only a third of the votes have been counted in Pretoria.

The heading should read : ANC firmly in control with 54% (comma) of votes counted so far.

Midvaal is an important one for the DA even though it lost a seat to the ANC, many where expecting much worse as the ANC had been working hard in the Midvaal to win it back.

Tshwane got a bit bigger since the last municipal election with the inclusion of some of the outlying municipalities to the east. Therefore expect there to be more votes even though the overall turnout percentage could be lower.

Well, I know they're NOT getting Cape Town of Joburg. And they still stand a chance of losing Pretoria and PE.

I mean for Joburg. Do they still have a mathematical chance? Or is it a certainty now that Joburg is DA

It seems the average intelligence in Cape Town is miles ahead of the rest of the country

And this burns my ass. I blame F.face Vice-chancellor Makoba’s of UKZN’s program of sabotage for the lowering of KZN education standards.

80.2 percent. DA. 15.6 percent ANC....CAPETOWN :) 56.6 percent DA. 39.2 percent ANC....Johannesburg :)

COPE now seems "ambiguous" about setting up coalitions with the Democratic Alliance after the local government elections, DA Eastern Cape leader Athol Trollip
