Male hormone testing

Sustanon is quite a serious supplement, I've only ever heard of bodybuilders taking it.

Benefits are apparently it's a mix of testosterone which gets released at intervals or something like that.

It uses different esters with the idea of releasing quickly and then over longer periods. While in theory it sounds nice, many of the hormone clinics no longer favour this or nebido as it can be difficult to manage the peaks and drops. You do get the benefit sometimes of fewer injections.

In the end its all exogenous test, but the big thing with this is managing consistent stable levels as much as possible

Did this last week at my GP. Added in the testosterone test as part of annual checkup.
Actual test cost is +-R100.00 plus your GP consult cost.
Levels on the lower end at 15 compared to 30 for my age range. Doc advised he will put me on Sustanon only if it affects libido etc. So for now trying to increase it naturally and will do the test in another 2-3 months and then check from there.

Did they do the test first thing in the morning?
Interested to find out what they mean by naturally?

Did mine last year along with entire blood work panel via doc was about R5k.

I was below low end testosterone so on estrogen blockers at the moment. Also good to get baseline PSA values etc

Also you wont just get injections this will be dependent on age etc trying for kids as well.

clomid or nolvadex?

When your peepee stops working and you're trying to find out if it's mental or physical...
What a stupid fkn comment. Clearly you do not think further than your peepee. Try doing some proper research into fitness and strength training and then go do your sums about why testosterone levels should be checked.

I went absolute beast mode at gym 2 years ago, 1000+ calorie sessions 5x a week push/pull upper lower body splits, pilates, plyometrics etc. Was at my peak physical fitness thought something was off though didnt happen as fast as I would have anticipated that was what triggered the reason to test my side. As I noted I was on the low end of low

This is one of the simplest steps to cross possible issues off the list. Will be doing my test next week and then take it from there. Got some helpful input here though.

Haven’t used Pathcare or Ampath after they gave me incorrect results a few years ago but you can check if they have an app and ask in their branch.

Why skimp out for just R100 though?
Not about skimping, im happy to pay the difference if there is actually any difference in the test/result. Why throw R100 away?

That would explain the rage in your post, you're one of those. Go easy on the roids and learn to chill, life isn't about literals and if you can't find humour in things, maybe the issue isn't just your testosterone...

Rage? Is it cos i typed the F word? My apologies. I did not realise you were this sensitive considering you were the joker trying to talk about other mens peepees. All good though. Feel your feelings.

Jeeezuz could you not come up with anything better than that?

First idiot sees a post about male hormones as a health topic and immediately thinks HaHa It MuSt bE PeEpEe IsSuEs.

Then gets a response that it is related to fitness and training, and sharply comes back with Go EaSy On ThE rOiDs --- because all people who care about being healthy or fit take streroids right? Another super witty comment.

Now to defend his honour, you come swooping in with, wait for it..... another penis joke? Come on guys, are you 12?

These jokes are not even funny or offensive, they are just sad.

For all you know you the person posting the question could be dealing with serious health issues along with anxiety/depression but you come along and troll on a HEALTH POST?

Do you think this is ok?

Well in fairness I am here for the pp issues. I fap too much, way too much. So I was wondering if I have hormone issues. I don't have money for the doctor so I read that heavy drinking can increase oestrogen and reduce testosterone. So armed with a couple cases of whiskey I chugged away for a couple of months. Now I have moobs and can't stop touching them leading to more fapping than ever before.

Now at least I know I need money for a phycologist rather.

So test results came back and I went to see the doc yesterday to discuss. My testosterone levels where about 20-30% lower than they should be, and my vitamin D levels where also bad. Got my first testosterone shot yesterday, and am now on Vitamin D supplements. Interestingly one of my big concerns was that I seemed to be breaking bones very easily now that I am doing Judo. In 6 months last year I broke a rib, and a toe and I am not seeing any of the other seniors facing the same issues. Both low testosterone and vitamin D cause bone weakness so hopefully this change will allow my skeletal frame to strengthen again as well as my muscle strength. Also increasing my calcium intake for now.

The testosterone injections are done every 3 months (cost about R2500 a pop). Will see how far medical aid goes to paying for that. The alternative was a cream you rub on your chest but that would cost R1K a month so I preferred the injection route. The nurse at the pharmacy can do it.

Doc wants to retest my levels after 6 months to see how its working.

Thats pretty hectic man. All the best with your journey. Also thanks for providing info on pricing, that is good to know.

At Lancet for some other blood work and figured I’d test for Testo while I’m here.
Costs R560 for anyone interested and you just ask for the form and what you want to test for.
