Malema kicks out BBC journalist

You know those people(low IQ psychopaths) that when cornered, blame you for a list of things, that they themselves are guilty of...almost as if they imagine that saying it first, absolves them and transfers blame...

Malema dares journalists
2010-04-08 15:35

Johannesburg - The ANC Youth League's president attacked the media at a briefing on Thursday, calling a BBC journalist a "bastard" and an "agent".

Julius Malema was addressing the media on the ANCYL's recent visit to Zimbabwe.

He criticised Zimbabwean opposition party the Movement for Democratic Change, saying they should go back to Zimbabwe instead of working from offices in Sandton, Johannesburg.

British Broadcasting Corporation journalist Jonah Fisher interjected, saying Malema lived in Sandton - unleashing a barrage of insults.

"This is a building of a revolutionary party and you know nothing about revolution so here you behave or else you jump," he said, speaking from Luthuli House in the Johannesburg CBD.

'White tendency'

Fisher attempted to respond, but Malema did not relent.

"Chief, can you get security to remove this thing here?" he requested of staff present on Luthuli House's 11th floor, the venue for most party media briefings.

"If you are not going to behave we are going to call security to take you out. This is not a newsroom this, this is a revolutionary house and you don't come here with your white tendency. Don't come here with that white tendency, not here, you can do it somewhere else.

"If you've got a tendency of undermining blacks even where you work you are in the wrong place."

To which Fisher replied: "That's rubbish."

Malema then asked him to leave saying: "... Rubbish is what you have covered in that trouser, that is rubbish."

"You are a small boy, you can't do anything. Bastard, go out, you bladdy agent."

No comment from BBC

The BBC declined to comment when contacted after the briefing.

The attack was preceded by a general one on the media after Malema was asked whether he met business people on his Zimbabwean visit last weekend.

He charged that journalists were "obsessed" with him.

"You come here, you say we met with business people, meaning you did not concentrate during that visit.

"You know you are obsessed with wrong... sensational reporting and you are desperate to make profit and you've run out of skills and strategies on how to make money.

Complaint lodged with Mantashe

"You have become obsessed with an individual and as a result you have lost your minds. All of you, irrespective, all of you."

He continued: "The best journalists we know, they should be ashamed of you, that you can go all out to lie about an individual because you want to sell newspapers.

"You are obsessed and obsession is a sickness. You are sick because of the style of reporting you have come to follow... you are misleading the SA population."

Later, he invited journalists who wished to leave in solidarity with the BBC to do so, though none complied.

Political reporters recently lodged a complaint with ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe about ANCYL spokesperson Floyd Shivambu - who threatened to reveal personal information about reporters should they fail to publish a story about a City Press journalist's allegedly accepting bribes.

Malema is an expert at getting professionals to attend his annoucements in the future. For the good of the country I hope that he will left on his own in order that he is not bothered by obsessed jounalists. And we won't be bothered by his racist drivel.

Oh I think he's happier dead. He is damned stupid, but he knows this much...that SA will expose his greed soon...he needs to go out with a bang...it's all he has...

Call a tree a tree...He appears to feel threatened by and severely dislikes whites.

Well? He severely dislikes the MDC, and COPE, and half the members of the ANC half the time. I'm not even sure he likes Redi Direko, and she's lovely.

Calling Mister Malema a 'racist' misses out on all the other offensive things he says and does.

Media should have walked'

Thu, 08 Apr 2010 17:53

All journalists present at an ANC Youth League media briefing in which a BBC reporter was called a "bastard" by Julius Malema should have left in solidarity with him, the National Press Club said on Thursday.

"Journalists need to stick together. It is entirely appropriate to walk out should a news conference degenerate into a shouting match and should journalists be sworn at and insulted," said chairman Yusuf Abramjee in a statement condemning Malema's behaviour.

Journalist attack 'a trend'

"This is not the first time that Malema has chosen to attack journalists and it appears to have become a trend in the past few weeks."

Malema was criticising the Movement for Democratic Change for speaking out against his visit to Zimbabwe from its office in Sandton, when BBC journalist Jonah Fisher mentioned the youth league leader lived in Sandton.

An angry Malema retorted: "Here you behave or else you jump. Don't come here with that white tendency, go out bastard, bloody agent."

'Unacceptable' behaviour slammed

Explaining the outburst later, Malema said the youth league and its leadership could not be undermined "in our own terrain".

"This is not a playground. This is not a beerhall. Don't abuse us in our own space, in our own house... this is my house," he said referring to ANC headquarters, Chief Albert Luthuli House.

Abramjee said such behaviour was "unacceptable".

The Congress of the People Youth Movement warned the "creeping tendency of the independence of journalist being undermined may reap us unwanted results."

It expressed concern over the incident and urged the media to boycott Malema and the ANCYL.

'Share's character flaws of Mugabe'

The Democratic Alliance spokesman on rural development, Mpowele Swathe, said each time Malema "open his mouth, he does damage to our prospects of attracting foreign investment, developing our economy and addressing inequality and poverty."

He was referring to comments Malema made at the briefing hailing Zimbabwe's land reform program.

"His praise for Zanu-PF land invasions, his assault on the Movement for Democratic Change, his assault on our own Constitution and the fact that he threw a journalist out of his press conference for asking perfectly legitimate questions, demonstrates with painstaking clarity that he shares the same deeply flawed and manifestly dangerous characteristics as Robert Mugabe."

Looks like journalists will get it right.

What I dont get is when Malema asked the reporter to leave why didn't all the other reporters/videographers/photographers/etc also leave??? that wouldv'e made a good statement to malema...

We need to hear everything this muppet says.

When he steps out of line he needs to be slapped the f**k back in line or take what he preaches...

Let him talk and show the world his love...

Time is running out for him...

What? Is malema dead yet?

There was a time when he was a loudmouthed idiot.

Today shows he has regressed to a rude bullying pig.

Saw his little tantrum on the news. He is a Trucking Tanker of the highest order. Mugabe is Zimbabwe's Hitler, Malema is ours. This 'lower then pig's shyte' will rule SA soon, and when that happens, well there is no comparison in history to what will occur here. Absolute Dictatorship will just be the start.

The reason the media didn't leave is the same reason why this moran is famous. He sells too many newspapers.

I saw it. :p

I love what he has just done to himself. I bet he was not informed of the ET operation.

Poor murderous little psychopath...awww not in control after all...snif... :p

Ready to die like a hero of the revolution, malema? You great fighter you...
