Man killed in horror pitbull attack

My deceased pitbull named Elizabeth (She was around 40kg of muscle!) was the most docile and friendly dog I ever owned. She never bit anybody even when provoked. That was the result of owner training. It is not 100% the fault of an animal when it bites, most of the blame lies with the owner and training.

I hope that the ****ing bastard that poisoned her rots in an eternal hell. I am a strong-willed bastard but I cried like a little kid when I saw her lifeless corpse, then had to go to a shrink for a week to get over it.

Same thing happened to my dads rottie, was the most placid dog and it was a monster and some ass ****er poisoned it.

I will bet money that those dogs werent socialised or trained and that they didnt get enough exercise.
There are no bad pitbulls, just bad pitbull owners.

She (my pitbull) most likely saved my life, because that very night she died there was a house robbery a few doors down and the owner was shot dead. That was what caused me to crack up, my beloved died so I most likely could live. The Feels man....

The breeding. The normal ones are the ones I have. Then you get the American Pitbull x Staffordshire cross (AmStaff) and the Bully (Which is also a kind of Staffie x Pitbull cross.)

The normal Pitbulls have longer legs as to where the AmStaff and the Bully are being bred to be short and bulk.

What the actual difference is with regard to temperament and the likes I honestly don't know. But all 3 are classified as Pitbulls in layman's terms

Ownership needs to be vetted but my experienced owners and NOT a government institution. Imagine applying for a gun license, premises inspected and history of dog ownership checked and verified by friend and/or family.

That would be my first solution off the top of my head.
 
Hate these stories. All I end up doing is feeling sorry for the dogs who didn't deserve the s***ty owners they had. Seriously, Satan and Psycho... All I need to know about the owner right there.
Oh, and American Pit Bulls, best.breed.ever. Bar none. I've seen Border Collies more temperamental than any of our family and friend's Pit Bulls and don't get me started on the handbag rats... Hell, I've seen more aggressive chickens and ducks.

nah he doesn't bite he just nips you on the calf to stop so he can find the shoelaces. he has a thing for shoelaces he wants to untie them for you so you can trip over lol.
 
Well bred dogs will look after you till the day they die. Although cruel or vicious treatment of any dog can turn them into rabid attack dogs. Same goes for human beings I reckon. The dog I loved the most was a boerboel. 70Kgs of affection and nobility. He was neutered though.

The smaller breeds are often more aggressive and bite a lot more than the larger ones. Just doesn't get into the press seeing as it is not so dramatic.
 
personally, I know I can't own a pitbull. they are beautiful dogs, but I don't think I have the time and patience to properly raise one. my basset hound has pushed me to the boundaries of my frustrations (where as my Shar Pei was the most awesome animal to train).

Who seem to kill the most people though? Pitbulls and Rhodesian Ridgebacks seem to be the nastier ones, you never hear of somebody being mauled to death by Maltese poodles.

Yeah a poodle has a *****ty temperant but it doesn't do much harm, so nobody really complains. Think about it... would you go to the papers or the police 'cos this little doggy bit your ankle? The constable will laugh at you.

Whereas, a bigger dog can obvi cause more damage. So people complain about it. And since pitbulls there is a higher number of pitbulls in comparison to other breeds in the W.Cape for example, the chances are that there are more cases involving pitbulls.

BUT the owner is still liable for any bodily harm as he/she raised the dog in a ****ty manner.
