I don't think it works like that.

It might create an encrypted id based on the hardware specs (since you can limit distribution and not limit the amount of installations to the SAME MACHINE).

So you should be fine. ;)

It's frikkin' annoying. :/ I'd check the map, and see ah ok, thataway, head off, only to run into the edge of the map. :)

Just checked, its fine when I start off on the ship, once we land on Eden Prime its out of whack. The 'north' pointer on the 'compass' thingy is also off by 90, probably a bug on the map.

Hah, looks like this was there in the XBOX version too.

Note that for Eden Prime the compass and map directions don't agree.

That's what I read on a forum, so I hope it's true.

Okay guys, check this!

As I said in one of my previous posts, I got the game working by removing OpenAL, but then what I've finally noticed is that, if I remove OpenAL, Race Driver GRID doesn't work.

So, I really like GRID, so I have to uninstall OpenAL to play ME but I have to reinstall GRID to play that.

This is not cool!

And going on all the hassles you chaps are having .......... Mass Effect has gone bye bye from my list. Uninstalling and reinstalling sh*t to play it?! Fsck that ....... rather wait for Fallout 3 /me will :D

Mine is working perfectly, played for around 2 hours last night. And my Grid demo works too.

Funny (as in odd not haha) how things work, or don't in this case.

I wonder if you can just move the OpenAL dlls into Grid's folder, or if needs to be installed and registered and stuff.

you running xp or vista?

my grid was working like a charm, until today, running vista. the frame rates have dropped for no reason! so im going back to xp! performance I can trust!

XP :) Using Vista at work, and I see absolutely no reason to switch. Heck, I am itching to get it removed and having XP reinstalled.

all i have to say is that good developers; releases a stable build without any build bugs and properly sand boxed, but i guess one have to take into account that devs usually get stuck into a can by the PR, Marketing and the release house.

it has become a trend to get the game first out and fix later (having the public to iron out the finder details), thus mostly you buy a game and wait for the patch to come out and then start to play it, which in some cases is so large it could have been a stand alone to the code.

in the end i would say there isn't really an excuse for piss poor programming, one have to just look at cod4 performance wise and eye candy to see that something can look good and run good too.

/rant aside [been needing to get this off my chest]

-Nonetheless i am also going to try my hand at mass effect.
