True, your chance isn’t zero anywhere in the world.

Modern migration is an issue that influences it in the west unfortunately, but it’s not really a race issue, if you take someone out of a place like Somalia or Syria their values are different and it’s the culture clash at fault.

It’s another of those problems that need resolving but are almost impossible to.

Yes, cultural incompatibility is still a major issue when it comes to immigrants.

Most of these are kids and “gang” related and there don’t seem to be many places here that aren’t affected by it. So damn stupid really.

My daughter lives in London and I don’t stress about it. If you don’t mix with those circles your chances of being involved in it are slim. Never zero, but slim.

As an immigrant myself I don’t feel that is accurate. My family mix with mostly other immigrants who share the same base values. Improve on one’s position in life and show decency to our surroundings and people we interact with. That to me is compatible with the average local culture.

Not looking to argue but rather just bring in some real life perspective. Media and the outrage it likes to stir doesn’t match reality for me.

Well that’s the difference between you, me and the others: we decided to leave a lot behind and embrace our new home. We became part of the landscape. That doesn’t go for everyone, though, and a lot simply never let go.

That's not the point though is it? I don't care whether people feel "uncomfortable" about it or not, it's deciding that they're great "patriots" all of a sudden which is the joke.

I'm not sure how vandalising public property makes one a patriot, but whoever imported all those flags sure is laughing all the way to the bank.

You and the media are the ones attaching the word 'patriots' to this. What is wrong with wanting to preserve your way of life and not have people openly opposing it? Sure, it's a small number of people like Anjam Choudary or this muppet MP, but appeasing them is what has caused all this in the first place. It's as simple as fit in or fsck off.

They describe themselves as "patriots" all the time. Just have a look at social media. Everyone else describes them as flagshaggers or roundabout painters.

I have also yet to hear a cogent explanation about how an old disused hotel with some migrants who are being processed living in it, is stopping anyone's way of life to the extent that they want to set fire to them.

How are those hotel dwellers not fitting in anyway? Are they supposed to spend every Friday at spoons with them and watch the footie on Saturdays?

And then the same "patriots" get upset when Khan is elected mayor (multiple times), because now "they" are fitting in too well.

We all know that the migrant issue is a problem, but let's not pretend that these "patriots" aren't being cynically manipulated for political gain.

Started reading this thread earlier... gave up after the first 70 odd posts from the usual crowd ..skipped to the end....and here you are still at it. Don't work much do we? Living on welfare? Or retired probably?

I'm self employed and my time is my own. Sometimes I'm busier than others. I actually didn't post for a few months a while back as I was too busy.

But if you look at my post count since I've been here compared to many others, it's not particularly high.
