My e-tag is fixed to the windscreen, I am ready to roll. It beeps once when I drive underneath a gantry. It is somewhat difficult to slide it in and out of the bracket, and I do not really trust the glue, even though the glue strip was supplied by 3M. The pamphlet states to wait at least 24 hours before attempting to slide the tag out, but I cannot see a reason to remove the tag so it will just stay inside.

Did you at least apply lube beforehand? Because you're fscked.

Yes this is what happened with me. During the weekend I made a point to check if I can find vehicles with tags fitted, I noticed many bakkies, very few sedans, guess businesses are complying with getting e-tags.

What if you're insolvent or under administration and not allowed to incur further debt or have credit accounts ?

If you are not paying imediately every time you pass under a gantry then you are being offered credit.

They are exempted the from the National Credit Act by law...

It all needs to be tested in court, but who wants to be the first guinea pig?
 
So, I just heard the interview with Sanral CEO on 702. He said that there are 1 000 000 road users on the tolled roads and that 800 000 have already bought E-tags.

When there was referred to the original 2.5 milion claim he said this was the amount used for their study and does not relate to the total amount of road users....
 
All these people buying etags at the last second dissapoint me...

knowingly giving credit to a person who know to be insolvent gives rise to an unenforcable debt long before the NCA came into being
BUT this is taxation not voluntary credit
