Reasons why the legal challenge should go ahead....

1) This is our chance to stick it to SANRAL, waste their time, give them the finger, even if the challenge is ultimately unsuccessful.
2) There is the outside chance, pretty remote, that the challenge might be successful, but better to have tried, than not tried.
3) OUTA is not to be sneezed at, they represent big players in the motor industry and the public.
4) I would rather send my money there than have paid tolls for all these months now, I have been giving OUTA R500 every month.

Not the best way to inspire people to support.

Pointless going ahead. It's just a waste of money.
It's obvious the Government is not going to allow tolls to be scrapped so just sit down, relax, and don't pay. Let the system fail on its face.
I've spoken to enough people who are directly involved with the software/architecture of e-tolling and they all just laugh at how ridiculously impractical the system is. The entire thing is pretty much based on the hope that people will just pay....

Exactly, the government will just change the laws or revisit the whole thing. Eventually they'll push it through.

It's not that they do not have a good case, it is just more likely that the government has already instructed the ConCourt how to rule on this.
Remember, Zuma's bulldog is now in charge of the ConCourt.

Really? The government can now instruct a majority in the concourt to rule in its favour?

You think the chief justice has no influence over his subordinates?

Yes, we have already started seeing evidence of influenced decisions.
Some examples?

There may be a few malleable members on the bench, but every decision they make out there is well set out and I'm yet to see evidence of bias for or against anyone. Sure if they released the decision of the individual judge we may see some dodgy favour currying reasoning but as a majority they're fair. And this is hardly a matter they would stake their reputations on to meddle, it has no political goals in it.

Are their pensions not managed by the PIC? There's enough of a reason.

So nothing? Thought so.

Really... Tell me, if you heard that your pension fund stood to lose billions because of this, you wouldn't be influenced even a little?
