mecer 5kva SOL-I-AX-5P settings help

From my settings, I've got SBU, 60A and my option 16 is set to CSO, which prioritises Solar, than battery after sun goes down and only switch to util at 48v. But if he only wants solar than 16 needs to be set to OSO and you could look at the first option being SOL, but SOL switches to utility when there is no PV, unless there is no Util
 
Thanks to all in the community for the advice. We don’t yet have the system connected to Eskom or our user loads as we need to completely reconfigure our DB to redistribute everything according to different running needs (part on grow beds, part on drip feed pots). That’s the next move where we have to sort out our neutral earthing (another thread to follow)

I will be using the system only for backup during load shedding and obviously charging the batteries off the Eskom, My anticipated load during loadshedding would be around 1KwH and I would ideally hope for 5-6 hours of backup.

15 to 25% of the battery capacity is what is recommended for lead acids, so 15A or 25A, since it's loadshedding I would go for the middle 20A.

I think without solar you can get away with most settings on default, take note of the low battery cut off setting, you will need to change that to align with the 50% DoD for lead acids.

You can post your current settings when you get time and we'll go through them and see.
 
Hi Guys. Is this Inverter/Charger (SOL-I-AX-5P) compatible with LFeLi battery? Also, can one set it via App? Installer, I believe, just installed, no custom settings, no connection to network, no comms between inverter and battery. Please advise. Thanks in advance

Yes, it is compatible with lithium batteries and yes, there is the Watchpower thing but I never got used to that.

The comms thing is a problem, you will require a specially made cable, Google it, and even then it's still a chore, last time I attempted something I got the comms right only to get an error alarm from the battery.

You mean the cable between battery and inverter?

It's the Watchpower. Yes, I meant the cable between inverter and battery, the one supplied with the inverter does not work.

Am I understanding correct that once the battery falls to 48v it will automatically switch to util?
 
@Lupus any idea why one would get a low battery voltage alarm when switching to util whether it be manually switched or automatically it seems to sound the alarm which then does not charge the battery until a battery reset is performed.

His inverter is not the greatest in terms of settings, he is using a Sunmagic PW5048 5KVA 48v Pure Sine Hybrid Solar Inverter with a Rentech BTESF48V100-R battery.

Trying to help a friend and Google is not giving me much results on a search.

Installer is MIA unfortunately seems like he got caught with a install and run with no support after, will probably have to recommend him a new installer to come out and check things.

Try set it as LA battery with no coms?
