Mecer usb3.0 pci express not working

Hi there,

Today I bought a mecer pci express USB 3.0 expansion card for my old pc, the model is 72022EL. Windows 10 installed the lastest drivers.

Issue:
It can read USB 3.0 flash drives, but will not pick my USB 3.0 external drives, these don't have external power source. These USB drives work on my motherboard usb 2.0 ports.

I only have one pci express slot, and I tried the different power connectors to the card but no luck.

Is this a faulty card?
 
Sorry to hear. It means that Win10 driver is not able to handle control over the output current limits. Your solution would be a different card (with different chipset) or self powered USB 3.0 hub.
 
I contacted mecer. They said other users have also complained about the same problem. It's seems they have a bad batch of cards. Going to get my money back. Any recommendations for a USB 3.0 card?
