Mechanical warranty

Its an Elantra. I'm having a hard time moving from park to reverse, but switching from reverse to any other gear works without a hitch. Called the mechanic and he checked it out and said its likely the interlock solenoid thats causing the issue. If you have other suggestions on what it could be, I'd be open to hearing them.

Which model Elantra? I had the 2012 1.8 GLS Auto, and mine did the same intermittently in the beginning. I eventually took it in to the dealer and it was a quick fix. Apparently there's some kind of a gear selector sensor that was misaligned, they repositioned it, tightened the fixing bolt/screw and has since then never gave that problem again.

That's definitely thicker than the Polo one. Not by much but definitely thicker. The VW one's though come with metal ring binders and a leather covering. It's actually really impressive. Typical Germans... lol
