...reset the router every 7-10 days since is stops responding to normal browser/internet/WIFI requests?

I appears to be running OK, all the lights function normally etc, but the router refuses to give out IP addresses and one is unable to connect via the WIFI.

On mine, when it acts up like this, I am still able to create a PPPoE connection from Vista/XP, but the router itself is essentially useless otherwise, until I reboot it

yeah!!! well uhm our electricity isn't that stable but yeah the router stops responding after a while...

Mine is actually now doing it every evening at around 7. It TOTALLY stops responding, not even pppoe requests work...

I mailed 2C Telecoms about this and "Support" (name included with the mail) stated that they are not aware of this issue and that I should get the router replaced, if under warranty.

My initial Mega 100WR did the same (it broke), got it replaced with a 105WR which also did the 7-10 day no response thing, and now this new 105WR worked exactly 8 days before acting up..

i donno if mine is under "warranty" seeing as the telkom guy gave me his router... without a power supply or anything and just gave me the router aswell as leaving my old (broken) router here too...

Why is it that the internet part of the router goes before anything??

Does anyone use a Mega 100/105WR ,with an ISP other than Telkom, and also experiences that same issue?

I wonder how many respondents we need in this thread with the same issue before 2C Telecoms will take notice of it and develop a solution?

On the flip side....I was at a client once, browsing through his router pages, and saw under status "uptime - 10,080+ hours". I thought it was an illusion, 'till he showed me the dedicated ups on the router. Turns out he was afraid Eskom would fry the thing, and he'd lose his internet forever. Over a year without being rebooted. So plainly it doesn't affect all the 105WR's.

I have an inline UPS and only reset my 105WR once a month as I always get capped!!

I know someone who never resets it and never needs to. Maybe they have bad ones and good ones, maybe Cape Town is special. We'll never know,

+1 I have to reset the router every now and then

The UPS setup does not make sense since most home/desktop UPS's one can buy are offline UPS's, which means your PC/Router/etc runs on mains power until a loss of power, when the UPS kicks in.

I seriously doubt whether someone here will buy an expensive online UPS just to run a home PC setup, just because it can provide constant stable & filtered power.

Happens to mine as well now again. where i can connect via a LAN Cable but the wireless is a no go, a quick reset and it works again with no issues

Yes, I have a 105WR, and am using Webafrica. I do have to reset, but it happens so infrequently (once say every 3 months) I hardly ever notice

I've found that it starts with the WIFI refusing to connect and then later on the issuing of IP addresses stops via the LAN cable

I have the same modem, Only problems i get when swopping from one account to another (is, saix, local etc) is does not connect the 1st time, takes a few tries but gets there :).

I have the same router, use telkom and Axxess, only have an issue sometimes, but that's normally from the ISP itself when they're down
