Which ISP are you using on the MFN Network?

Yup seeing the same here - currently going through the motions with CISP support - during the evening everything slows/packet loss and once loadshedding happens I get full line speed again.
Sounds like typical congestion, can you pop me your support ref #

In most areas, metro fibre networks are operational (based on my own experience & colleagues feedback elsewhere) despite frequent and up to 4.5 hours of load shedding.

Considering that MTN 3G signal goes within 2 hours of load shedding and considering how big a company MTN is compared to metrofibre, this is no mean feat.

I really appreciate it and especially a big shout out to Metrofibre - well done guys and thank you. Also a big shout out to ISP @RocketNet-Rep as well as I am sure they have similar backup power strategies.

Hi @surface, thanks for the shout out. We have implemented backup strategies where required. With FTTH however MetroFibre (or other FNOs) do most of the backup power required to keep you internet on. As long as they are up and your router has power everything should continue to work uninterrupted. Please do give us a shout if you have any issues.

For those interested.

We have dropped the price of the MetroFibre 1Gbps to R1297 per month. It's now only R100 more than the 500Mbps :)

Wow that's a flippen good price!
If one were to change from a different ISP how would I go about doing that?

Hi.

Most ISP have a 30 day calendar notice for cancelation, you would need to submit cancelation first with your current ISP and sign up with afrihost a week before.

Good price, pity about the upload speed.
Would have changed if it was 500Mbps.

No service on MFN fibre (trenched) line, as of ~10-11pm last night.
Location: Right near Riverhorse Valley, KZN
Reported via webform.

UPDATE: (Next day)
-MFN appeared to have outages to parts of KZN.
-Most seem to be fixed by around mid-day.
-Fibre service back up and running.

-I never received any notification/s via E-Mail or other, from MFN about this outage. Even after submitting a ticket on their website last night.
-Whenever I try to access the 'Client Zone' on the MFN website, it keeps taking me to the Coverage Map.
-I don't understand how to login to the MFN website, if you even can.
-The MFN website doesn't list the outages in order of date posted, making it harder to find/read. https://metrofibre.co.za/network-status/

Thanks, I had to go to a coffee shop to start work. I'll pop home now and check and revert if there is still an issue
