Yes, you need a new router with gigabit ports.Saw the Metro Fiber announcement and did a sped test. my 50/50 package now reaches 92/95 so basically 100/100
Now as I understand I should be able to reach 250/250 if I am not mistaken. but I now wonder, the router I have, I assume will have normal 10/100 Ethernet ports, as do most of their other users routers. does this then mean one should get a new router with gigabit ports? otherwise what is the point of 100/100 + upgrades if most of their users can not use it?
Or would you be able to "draw" say 50/50 on each port simultaneously, if you have four ports? or will the router only be able to do 25/25 on each port.
Hope my questions make sense
