I have no complaints at all, they are a good network I never had down time. They work when Eskom don't so what more can I say MetroFibre for the win. :thumbsup:

Good Morning,

Just want to confirm but has anyone in the Greendale Park, Howick in KZN area been upgraded yet? Friend is with MWEB on MFN. Their current statement shows 250Mbps at R899 [other ISPs have 400/400 at this price +-].

How is the congestion in the area between 17:00 <> 22:00? Their speeds have been dropping to 25% [25Mbps] of their 100Mbps linespeed :/.

@MWEBHelp Any feedback here?

Intermittent packet loss and jitter on metrofibre network, been like this for almost a month now, download and upload speed completely fine. however games like valorant, I drop anywhere between 500 to 600 packets a games on a good day, worst case scenario was about 1200 packets for a full game. This is with the Nokia 2425, 1000/500 line, Valorant used to work perfectly fine, notice there might have been an optimization done recently somewhere which has made jitter for downloads much better, but bad experience for gaming. Please confirm? And for god sake can i have full access to my router, I can't change any settings

Metro FNO and ISP

@CoolEscalator @EpicPotato @TheRoDent

So I saw Cool Ideas facing a similar issue. From Afrihost side don't want to link issues up that aren't related but what we see is intermittent loss to Cloudflare and Rain over NAP JHB. With AWS we have a PNI so it's fine. We suspect that some parts of the peering fabric at NAP have congestion or link losses causing the intermittency.

Maybe related or not and just AWS nap peering capacity issues.

AfriNatic I see there is a Afrihost fibre increase coming as of March 2024. Do you have a list of all the new prices on MetroFibre please?

Great news thank you
Also convince Metrofibre to give us 1Gbps upload as well please :laugh:

Yes please… pretty much the only reason I’m staying on 400/400.

If there was a 1,000/1,000 I’d have already upgraded.
