vista is memory hungry, i wonder what it will be like if all the eye candy and other crap is switched off?

Still memory hungry. It's not really the eye candy that's killing the resources.

IMHO, even as a Linux user, I believe that XP has been a good (by M$'s standards) Operating System. If you look at Vista, wow, where do I start? Puking might be a good start. I have the same computer as a friend of mine, except that he has 4GB RAM and I have 2GB. He uses 1400MB RAM where I would use 900, for exactly the same programs. Shows you what Vista can do

But back on topic. extending support to 2014 is a good thing.
