I'm very happy with MSE - picked up everything so far (which Avast and others didn't), and not resource hungry - MS have got a good product in this!
South Africa’s biggest forum. Discuss, discover, and connect with thousands of members.
Um.. is there a new version of this? because on my mse it says something about upgrading..
I'm on local now.. so I can't really upgrade, I want to know if I can get the upgrade from an internet cafe .. and then re-install it..

PS. Just a warning. I see it does a Genuine Windows Activation check when you install it. Probably will not install if you have a cracked version of Microsoft Products.
This is correct!
PSPS. If you have turned your Auto updates off it will be turned on again during installation. Mine downloaded Service Pack 3 for XP(Work PC) and all updates after that, during the update I thought was for virus definitions.
ditto
Don't worry, if you have the windows WPA crack it works fine.. (I'm speaking on behalf of my friend which has a cracker version lol...)
But from the MSE side, I heard it doesn't detect auto run viruses.. is that true?
Definitions are about 40MB+/- for MSE. I've got this update utility for MSE that doesn't depend on Windows Update, will post it when I boot up the PC.
Please share this with us.![]()

For the life of me I cannot understand why the writer of that little package didn't just add an option to enter a proxy server for it to use![]()
Maybe leave a comment, think it might help most who do need a an option to add a proxy.
EDIT: Have you checked if Internet Options in the Control Panel isn't linked to it in terms of the Proxy settings.?
