Mighty Mouse

Am having a problem with my Mouse, i can scroll up, side to side but for some reason it won't scroll down. Have tried playing around with the settings but nothing seems to help (using the ball scroller button)

Any ideas?

Dirt is clogged up in the scroll thing. Same problem here. Apparently compressed air will do it good to dislodge the dirt, or if you're brave enough, open it up and clean out that bugger!

Alternatively, meth spriits also does it good apparently. You can apply this with an earbud. Also, rub the scroll ball on a wet cloth really quick.

Managed to fix mine for a bout a day by using the cloth method, but it went back to it's clogged self again.

Nah, mines exactly the same. Must be a clog up of dirt on the "scroll-down roller" thingy

Haha actually just after posting that I fixed my prob It wasn't clicking so easily like before! Had to push the mouse in quite hard! But the little rubber joint thing that fills up the hole where the wire leads to the mouse wasn't sitting properly. After i fixed that, it's back to normal;

You need quite a bit of patience though!

It was fairly simple, fixed my scroll now Was dirt all over the place!

If you really need/want your scroll then go ahead. Just don't rush things!

Oh and I cracked one of these rubber rings, but not a biggie! Glues back fine

no, its not a wireless. i bought my imac about 8 months ago, so its still under warranty, not sure if its covered for dirt though if indeed thats the problem, although i suspect it is.

I'm not a big fan. I love the round wheely thing - scrolling sideways or diagonal is just so cool! But the single top body means the difference between left, middle and right click is sometimes blurred. It really slows me down at times.
