My Mighty Mouse still works well, but you can always use any other mouse with the Mac.
Some Apple apps actually require you to use a 3 mouse button mouse, eg Shake and Color.

My Mighty Mouse is also 2 years old already and its also still working fine - if the scroll ball plays up I just clean it as indicated on Apple's site.. never had a problem.
