So I recently changed isps and went with MTS as they seemed like a good choice and a lot of people recommended them. I even got a test account from them and everything was great so I decided to go with them.
Now I am suddenly getting ping 6 times higher than normal(30ms) instead of (5ms). But that isn't that bad. Suddenly I am having intermittent connection problems where my connection would just drop for a few minutes at a time as well.

Anyone else on MTS experiencing these issues recently?

Yea moved over as well and my fiber line got seized because they didn't do their paperwork correctly and now that I have a new B number I get 20ms and 60MB Down and only 20 up on my Openserve Fiber line. All they said to me was they don't see any issue with the line... Where my old B number I got 5ms and my full 100/50 line

are you testing via Wired connection or Wifi?

Yes im testing over wired. ive tried multiple dns servers as well. It is fine in the day time but now im getting less than 3mbps download on a 100meg line and my ping is 100+. This wasnt an issue on my previous isp so I doubt its congestion suddenly in my area.

Are you also having issues with reduced speeds some nights/ late afternoons?

Yea, managed to get the new B number. As to the DNS issue yes, tonight will mark the first 200ms I've ever seen off 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1 via openserve MTS 100/50 Spoke to MTS techies at first they said I am crazy but when I restarted my Mikrotik they went "Oh Crap" I went from only seeing 70% of my line to only seeing 15% with packet loss and terribad DNS issues.

they're still busy trying to sort it out but I am telling you there's something strange about it. Either this is a peering issue with MTS via Openserve or something. Never seen this on a fiber connection. I mean their own system said to them I was fine right up until I rebooted my equipment.

Edit: Just spoke to them Openserve is in the poop. they're aware and trying to resolve.

Also contacted them and it's apparently an openserve and MTS issue. Other people I know in my area on openserve are absolutely fine on other isps at the moment. Really not impressed with MTS thus far

I'm actually getting a 200/200 pipe from Frogfoot real soon so just waiting on that to happen. yea this would be strike two for me. Not very impressed either was told they're pretty decent but I am not seeing it at all in terms of performance.

Now when I try to cancel they'll probably hold the "Migration fee" of R600 over my head even though the service has been absolutely abysmal. Wish I could also switch to frogfoot but they're not in my area.

I'd downgrade wait the 6 months and then move over to someone else. Level 7 on Openserve are pretty decent.

If you are on Openserve can you do a ping test or MTR to bras.afrihost.com

Why is it traveling like that.

bras.afrihost.com
bras.wazar.org

should be something similar to this

That's interesting, I didn't know this was a thing. Usually on Openserve it would block out the 2nd hop but mine goes directly to it and I'm not even on Afrihost.

Static route maybe? No idea MTS has dropped the ball someplace.

Yeap it's something you can use to test jitter or loss on the line I guess. It's before it hits IPC or the ISP so interesting to test.

Someone complained about igh latency on Afrihost when a mtr to bras showed very high latency so you can get a picture if the line is an issue. Does not eliminate possible Openserve transit issues to and from IPC though.
