Minister defends her authority

“I don’t know why the minister is always fighting legislative battles with us to expand her policy-setting powers, because she does not produce policy,” Smuts said.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :D :D

But Matsepe-Casaburri said she found the preoccupation with ministerial powers “very, very strange” seeing that they had never been abused.

If it wasn't so tragic it would actually be funny

/me looks into his archives and finds this nice little declaration from cassaburi roundbouts february 2005.

"To clarify. we are not opening up the market for vans to self provide their own infrastructure"

Not abusing her powers my ass.

Looks like she wants to control as much as possible, hrm so, whats hapening in the post office arena that has caught her interest? As soon as someone not wanting to milk the public dry replaces her watch them cry of abuse of power.

The post office is even more incompetent than Telkom, if that's possible! We don't need any monopolies like this, open it up to competition and if they're decent they'll survive.

Why OH WHY is Ivy still employed as MoC???? PLEASE would somebody just let her retire so that her delusions no longer impede progress for South African telecoms growth. Come on Thabo, stay in the country for a short while and pay attention to what's happening under your very nose. We need reform not only in policy and policy-makers, but in backward thinking, should-be-retired, power grabbing, self-enriching ministers as well.

Ivy's between 60 and biltong already.. hopefully she doesn't make a 3rd term.

I was about to read no further when I saw that it was about regulations going postal, but then I saw those quotes, and well I have now had my dose of humour for the day :D.

It's true what Dene Smuts said there: her Poisonous Ivyness doesn't actually produce any policies - the ministerial bovinity simply delays creating policies by years and years and years...

As for Ivy claiming that she has never abused her ministerial powers...doesn't ZimBobWe need a 2nd wife - perhaps Ivy would be more comfortable in palacial surrounds & yelling let them eat cake or something...

She will be happy there, after the 'purge' they mostly all look like her too.

ivy as the reincarnation of marie antoinette??

i think perhaps not...

however, those who watch south park may have figured out that within ivy beats the heart of Cartman

One of my favorite episodes of South Park is when crass little Eric Cartman puts on a police officer’s uniform. He trolls around on his Big Wheel, screaming “Respect my authori-tie!” before bashing people with his baton.

..now if only we could figure out who stole the cheesy poofs...........

Does her poisonousness actually believe all the schitt that comes out of her mouth herself? Or does she think we're gullible enough to still believe it?

To which I'll respond with: Telkom

Actually ... NO. Ivy doesn't think we're gullible. She know's we're not. She does, however (and sadly, quite correctly) believe that the uninformed masses that could make a difference believe her and they're the choir Ivy is preaching to. We're simply ignored, even though we refuse to go away.
