My 32GB SSD laptop is no longer running smoothly with windows 10 so I downloaded Mint 19,3. I used Rufus to install it to my flashdrive and I played around with it to test it.

I then clicked on "Install" to install it to my SSD and to delete windows. On completion it would not boot up so I reverted back to windows.
It would not boot to Linux from the usb flashdrive anymore even though reinstalled the iso to the flashdrive and used Universal USB Installer. The fault is shows is this;

"Failed to open \EFI\BOOT\mmx64.efi - Not Found
Failed to load image \EFI\BOOT\mmx64.efi : Not Found
Failed to start MokManager : Not Found
Something has gone seriously wrong: import_mok_state() failed : Not Found"

Any ideas?

Sounds like you wiped the UEFI partition...

Laptop make & model?

Interesting reading. I also have an Acer E11 laptop. 32GB SSD. 2GB DDR memory and 2.58GHz processor.

Linux Mate had the same issue so I downloaded Mint 19.1 and disabled Secure Boot in BIOS.

This time it worked well on the USB drive. Installing it on the SSD however was not simple.

It kept skipping the registration and wifi pages on occasion and would terminate the install.

Got it going now but it skipped the page where you choose the install required. I wanted to overnight windows and uninstall it but it started installing something to somewhere anyway. Only had 2 GB left on the SSD.

It is now 16 hours and still busy. Will see what I get when eventually done.
