Vodacom and MTN have the same pricing. Why doesn't ICASA or the competition commission find out why?

I'm switching providers ASAP, nice one NeoTel. Finally something a little different.

Biggest issue with this is that I have to go out and buy yet another f**king modem. I have a 3G stick modem. If I could use that I might be tempted, especially if they had a pay as you go option. But there is no way I am forking out R1.5k for something when all the reports I have been reading about their network are that it is carp and their service stinks.

Will stick to voda thanks. At least I know I will have coverage, get roughly the speed I am paying for, can use my data over 2 months and numerous other reasons.

+1.

I loaded the generic Huwai software on my Vodafone Mobile Connect card. I now have a Vodacom and an MTN sim card. Whenever one network gives me trouble I use the other. So if either Vodacom or MTN drop their prices I'd be happy.

8c per meg, though still expensive is really cheap compared to the other lot, which says a lot about them really...

Something I am confused about is why neotel didn't just go for a cellular network while they wait for llu. I mean sure by having a unique device people are kinda limited to them once switched but switching to them is now harder when your existing device works nicely for 3 other networks.

I started telkoms wireless very early on [before advertising was all over the show] and it'd just started up.

Perhaps the best experience I've had with getting broadband [limited to neotel, iburst and normal ADSL]

I went in store, the guy there was very well informed. I had no activation fees [it was in trial period].
They explained that if it didnt work, or i didnt want it, I could return it after a week. If I did that, I'd get my money back for the device. No contracts, no obligations. Neotel on the other hand force you to pay the device cost regardless [or so I understand].

2mins to activate my sim card. And I was off home.

Plugged it into my PC, the auto install kicked in and done. No issues. Only once have I lost connection to the internet, and this is why

According to my calculations, Neotel are the most expensive

Don't forget the 10% free data on Vodacom, and MTN

With Neotel (in fact, I think with all such contracts) you also get a 7 day "cooling off" period where you can return the device and not have to pay a cent.
