It is sound journalistic practice to seek comment and afford a right of reply if comment isn't secured you also need to indicate that you have done this. Because of the rapid nature of tech and business news which MyBroadBand finds itself in short deadlines are inevitable but the right to reply still subsists and the solution really is to publish the responses when received rather than wait for them which is what they do.

I suspect that an increase in not available by time of publication is a result of both a downsizing of the press communications arms of ICT companies and the fact that MyBroadBand and other SA tech and business publications are clearly relying on less experienced journalists and freelancers. Probably with the general muck at the national press club a South African ICT Press Club with tech journalists and public relations officers and a few academics and so on would be a good thing.
