Hi there

I got my phone line installed about a month ago. The line is 4mbps (too far for 10mbps) and when first installed the modem synced at 512/4096 and was butter smooth stable.

There was a problem with the line about a week ago where there was some noise on the line and the modem kept dropping sync - probably because of some wind we had. Telkom got that sorted out.

My modem refuses to sync anywhere higher than 2 or 3mbps now, even though the stats are fine (14 snr, max attain. ~6mbps).

Any ideas as to why this would be happening?

Thanks

Possibly ask them/Telkom to reset your ASSIA profile to the correct sync

I was told today that they can no longer do this over the phone and they need to send out a technician...

is that true??
