Monthly Electricity Consumption

1 adult. Not sure about units, but I buy around R250 in summer and R350 in winter. Will probably go up a bit now with the price increase.
 
700 - 900 units per month.

Note that I have a PC running 24/7; inverter aircons used in summer; coffee machine working daily and I wife who loves her kitchen (stove, airfryer, microwave, etc) Two days a week, the tumble dryer works, especially in winter.

I moved to a larger property and June I clocked in 900kw we are 2 Adults and 1 Child with 200l geyser 4kw (standing loss of 3.02kw 24hr) and 150l (standing loss of 1.37kw 24hr) all my lights are led. Just trying to figure if I can reduce more or it might be extra high due to winter.

The 90% is really a stretch.

Done this more than 30 years ago already. Reminds me I should check on my device to see if it is still functioning at optimum.

Let's see how long it takes for some to work out what it is claiming it does.

So what devices are good at monitoring and logging energy consumption? Thinking of going solar soon, so ideally looking for something that will monitor the whole property's usage.
 
I think everyone here using less than 200kwh should pay a R500 flat rate!

Rather invest in a thermal blanket for it if older geyser, modern ones should have good enough insulation already and not need, depending on what you have. The standing loss is usually on a label pasted on the geyser.

One person, 135kWh last month I think it was.
Cheating a little as heating will be off central heating, but currently summer so not using, permanent work from home, cooking multiple meals a day, each cup of coffee is heating up a mokka pot again.

Purple is me, gray is the average of the city for all single person households that are only home evenings, that comparison is iffy since I work from home most days, so this comparison is better (standard all-day usage):

Fridge, modem, etc. all being on is 0.08-0.12kWh.

Highest power draw is the dishwasher it seems, it competes with the stove, it's an older thing from 2008 just before the new standard kicked in I think. Oven I don't use that often, used it a lot this month though, which is why the larger increase starting from the 20th, the circulating air setting in an oven does drop the temp requirements quite a bit (~20C) which is nice.

Cost is about 29 EUR/month.
