So... Had solar installed. Just as comparison, I took Jul '21 (856 units) and compared to Jul '22 (329 units). Timeframe too short for an average, but I am chuffed with the improvement so far.700 - 900 units per month.
Note that I have a PC running 24/7; inverter aircons used in summer; coffee machine working daily and I wife who loves her kitchen (stove, airfryer, microwave, etc) Two days a week, the tumble dryer works, especially in winter.
I only had it installed recently but have noticed things like power tools draw a lot wowSo... Had solar installed. Just as comparison, I took Jul '21 (856 units) and compared to Jul '22 (329 units). Timeframe too short for an average, but I am chuffed with the improvement so far.
Getting raped by the people in charge of the complex I stay at. There is no prepaid electricity in my flat nut the monthly bill is over R800 and I live alone and barely use anything for power outside of just cooking, turning the lights on, and using the computer. I only turn on the geyser when i need to, which is once every 48 hours for 1.5 hours max. In my previous place I spent more than R350 on electricity a month.
Are there a meter , could you see ea billing period readings ?Getting raped by the people in charge of the complex I stay at. Unfortunately renting it so I dont have control over getting prepaid installed. If you've bought can't you apply to get a prepaid meter?
Not too sure, i just get sent the bill every month end with the total. How do I go about asking for such? Are there a meter , could you see ea billing period readings ?

I've been interested in the PTC claims because thermodynamically they don't make sense and I've yet to find anyone who can actually do some tests. Have you been able to test / confirm that it uses less power than conventional elementPrior to fitting solar kit - 650 units
Post fitting solar kit - 400 units
Have pre-paid 3-phase meter, house is quite large but just the two of us
Also 20-tube water heater, this works amazingly well. From mid-September to April, electric water heater barely comes on
Last week fitted a PTC heater element in place of the wire one. 1/3 saving, 2kW instead of 3kW and it heats the water faster. Got it from Geyserwise
How come your neighbour's usage impacts on your account? My monthly electricity bill dropped from 950 to 600 since the next door neighbor moved out end of last month. What the hell was he doing with the power to push the average bill that high? Must have been mining bitcoin on a daily at our expense. Glad he's gone!

I have the same questionHow come your neighbour's usage impacts on your account?
Wtf is a KW/h?1100KW/h per month throughout the year.
2 Fridges
Pool pump
Geyser
No heater/AC
Gas heater/stove
Elec. oven
Yet we pay R5k per month, we need to audit this crap billing with CoJ because they "estimate" our meter.
dramatically in price?Wtf is a KW/h?
