More than 1 in 3 men rape - study

Who said anything about race being the reason? Poverty is the obvious reason, go look at impoverished countries and you will find high crime and brutal crime.

Obviously addicts commit crime but how often does a drug addict murder and rape their victim? I would say generally murders and rapists are not on anything.

So who are these murders and rapists? what are their backrounds? I will bet poverty was the start from there they turned into monsters. Obviously you have brutal rich people who murder and rape but the crime stats on this country certainly do not indicate the rich are doing all the murdering and raping.

The question i would love to know is why you grow up to be a brutal killer who can kill someone for their cellphone. Must be poverty for most cases.

I do agree with you on the poverty issue, but I think the intensity of the violent crimes is race related

Human beings who kill mostly aren't taught to kill. They're mostly NOT taught to NOT kill.

You can sit back there with your lack of social relativity, but the moment the food starts to run out and your kids are going hungry and starving, you'd kill for it and if you managed to get it likely feel you did a good deed.

Bad Research Method - this kind of reporting and research undermines the the fight against violence against women because it is so nonsensical. It's an indication of how lazy researchers and journalists are - they don't bother to quote sample sizes, the demographic of the survey population, etc and then do a simplistic extrapolation.

Difference is there is not some male organization pushing BS and we enjoy someone taking advantage of our inebriated state :D.

So do women.

Extra , extra read all about it ! Women enjoy sex too !

Including no doubt 14 year olds who have consentual sex with their teachers. We're quick to laugh it off when it happens to a boy because he "probably"
enjoyed it. A girl though, including me by the way, leaves a bad taste in the mouth. The double standards and how we put women on a priveledged pedestool in western society is astounding.

I am not so sure about that because most murder and rape is done by blacks and their victims are black, so unless you mean like a zulu xsoha type thing i am not sure race has anything to do with the brutality. All over Africa black folk murder black folk. The brutality dished is horrid, rape, murder, chopping off limbs.

Brutality has to come from the way people are brought up. When you see it all the time it can become natural to you.

I for one am grossly apathetic when I read such a study that tries to "shock" me. The result is that I "poo poo" most womens issues. An example of "crying wolf" once too many times.

What I meant by race related is exactly what you said. In some of our black cultures you settled a score with killing. ex Your brother slept with your wife . . . kill your brother.

Go back a few years in the grand scheme and you just described every "race" and part of the world. You can't just erase the romans, nazis, slave masters, vikings etc who are all good examples of rampant murderous raping white people, off your radar to make convenient race based stereotypes. I think we'll all be better off admitting that the base nature of a human being of every description is an awful thing. A very ugly rough diamond that needs socialisation to become ....well...social.

Your need to turn posts into racial ones has blinded you from seeing my point was that most africa live in poverty, yes most of them are black folk.

Here is your CARD you know what you can do with it :D.

Yup it has happened through out history but with education the world has moved forward, when you live in poverty you do not have access to the learning tools thus you get stuck living the old ways. Someone can tell you things and you will believe them because you do not know any better.

Poverty might have a degree of influence . . . I'll give you that. I'm from CT and know plenty of poor black people who don't rely on crime to survive. Have they been brought up differently as that of the neighbour next door? You dont see the whole of Khayelitsha or Nyanga going out killing and raping people!

Only 1 in 3 didn't you read the article? Besides how often do you see murder and rape?

So how would you know what people are doing? Obviously not everyone who grows up poor is a murder and rapist.

Dolphins gang rape all the time. So do bonobo chimps. Two species that like humans practice sex for recreation. Without "culture" there is nothing separating humans from animals in this type of behavior.

To put it in simplistic Freudian terms, without superego in place mankind will just carry out the desires of his id. ALL mankind.

Difference is there is not some male organization pushing BS and we enjoy someone taking advantage of our inebriated state :D.

Actually there are growing mens groups who have recognized the anti male sentiment in the media. Go on youtube and type in feminism. Rather than a bunch of videos promoting feminism you will find more berating the harm it has done. By women and men. The difference is in the male movement the discourse is far more sophisticated. It's not about hating or blaming women. In fact the widespread sentiment is that feminism has been pushed on us not to benefit women, who find themselves far unhappier today with the stresses of modern life than before, but rather to divide and weaken the nuclear family. This is done to divide and conquer, to tranquilize and lead to a passivated society. To get the women into the work place and the men subservient to the women.

Notice when parliament or universities etc are made of of a greater proportion of men it's criticized. When a greater proportion of women it's celebrated. No that the UK has 60% of students as women where is the movement for affirmative action for men ? Iq and school tests were changed to suite women yet still men are 4 times more likely to be geniuses, but we make up 40% of university entries ? (Nothing personal ladies, we just have proportionally bigger brains). How much of this is to do with primary school teachers in the UK almost all being women due to men feeling they're be labelled pedophiles for doing the job ?

A few vids for you to get the brain juices going.

Off the top of my head a few blatantly anti male issues that exist.

Men die younger, receive less health funding.
Testicular cancer is more prevalent than breast cancer. Where is our ribbon and awareness campaign ?
99% of work place deaths happen to men.
Men are drafted to wars.
Men are shafted in their rights to their children and money after a divorce.
Men have no "abortion" rights.
The only crime you're guilty until proven innocent is rape for a male. There is no such thing legally as a woman raping a man.
"Sexual harassment" is the only crime that relies upon the subjective interpretation of the act by the woman. If you're attractive she might be flattered, if you're not to her she's "harassed". Producing the ridiculous precedent that it's legally valid to prosecute someone a woman finds unattractive.
Despite myths of glass ceilings etc, men work more hours than woman, and make up a huge proportion of people doing the worst jobs.
Female children are pandered to and nurtured at school. Male children are treated roughly and considered something that needs to be changed. A few years ago male children were beaten with sticks by teachers, but never females.

and lastly for now, although I could think if so many more :

For writing this I will be told to "get over it" and "you have a chip on your shoulder" as if I should not expect to have my equal rights respected. I am after all, just a man, and men are expected to "man up" and just take it up the pooper.

There are hundreds of examples of female privilege. Yet some people think it's a good use of time to still claim women are less privileged ?

Hey, at least we have Movember....:D

True that. Nice campaign by the way.

I sort of had the idea first though it never took off. I grew a beard and tried to get other men to do so under the guise of awareness of male oppression or as I call it "li- beard -ty". It, and my beard, both failed.

Rape is only a problem if you are part of the problem.

I have never and will never rape a woman. Based on that I call Bullshyt. I'm just a normal Joe, and I'm willing to say 90% of the men out there are normal Joes. To push such stats to try and prove a point is counter productive. Woman are being raped daily, I fully agree that it needs to be adressed, but what does a heading like this do to the greater population?

Seriously, I think you're looking at this the wrong way.

+1

I think if we make a list of things that seriously affected the world in a terrible way, rape would struggle to make the top 20. Sexual harassment would not make the top 1000. Yet we're lead to believe these are the primary issues of the day. I mean REAL non consensual rape by the way. To me if you enjoyed it at the time or consented to it, no matter what state you were in, provided you got yourself into that state, it's not rape.

Consider war, genocide, racism, mental illness, physical impairment, poverty, various cancers, lack of education, , lack of healthcare , aids, murder, drugs, malaria, child abuse etc. I can't be bothered to spend my time worrying about rape. Something from my experience that is extremely unappealing to all the men I know.
