In Brad's case he did the joint highest number of laps so it's not like the crash cut his session short. Either he was taking it easy through the section where he crashed due to a confidence thing which affected his overall lap time or the more likely reason is the bike is just a complete dog to handle.

Hopefully they find a fix for FP2 but dark times at KTM for sure...
 
Great ride by the Beast... beautiful... Pecco just lost it that lap. Brad the only KTM to finish the race... seems hes the only one that can ride it consistently.

With a missing front wing too. That must have hampered him quite a bit. Could easily have had Nakagami for 7th too I reckon.

Good stuff from the podium all things considered. The Beast full value for his win, harassing Bagnaia into a rare error. Jack keeping that soft front in workable condition to claim 2nd and Aleix holding off Quartararo for third.

Silly season: Miller linked with KTM switch​

The pre-2023 MotoGP™ silly season is shaping up to be one of the craziest on record, with plenty of big names coming off-contract, and highly sought-after seats becoming available. Jack Miller is no stranger to contract chatter, but there appears to be a twist in the tale as far as his future is concerned. Sky Sport Italia reports that he will be on the move to KTM at the end of the year.

Miller’s current home is, of course, the Ducati Lenovo Team. However, with Francesco Bagnaia already locked into another two-year deal, Jorge Martin (Pramac Racing) waiting in the wings for a seat at the Bologna factory’s official team, and Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing) putting in performances that are hard to overlook, it seems likely that the Australian will have to find somewhere else to go next season.

Until now, it had been suggested that he would return to Pramac, where he spent three years before getting the endorsement of a promotion to the factory Ducati outfit. Miller himself even said after the Grand Prix of the Americas that he “wouldn’t care” if he went back there, because it is a squad which enjoys parity with the official team in terms of the equipment it receives.

But, as Sky Sport Italia notes, there is a significant figure at KTM who worked with the three-time MotoGP™ race winner at Pramac. Francesco Guidotti was installed as Team Manager at Red Bull KTM Factory Racing ahead of the 2022 season, making the shock switch from Pramac to replace Mike Leitner. Is a reunion on the cards?

Perhaps, but what is far from certain is exactly which team Miller would ride for, assuming he does sign a contract with the Austrian manufacturer. Brad Binder is already locked in for next year but his factory team-mate Miguel Oliveira has not quite sealed a new contract just yet. He is close to doing so but, if the Portuguese rider were to move on, he would be replaced by ‘Jackass’.

If not, then Tech3 KTM Factory Racing would be the destination, setting up an all-Aussie rider pairing at the satellite team. Sky Sport Italia is tipping that Raul Fernandez will leave at the end of the season but 2021 Moto2™ World Champion Remy Gardner is likely to renew and stay in the orange family.

All of this comes after Ducati Corse Sporting Director Paolo Ciabatti recently told Sky Sport Italia that “the futures of Bastianini and Martin will be clear in June.” Bastianini did his cause no trouble with a victory in the SHARK Grand Prix de France, but Miller should also be a prized signing after finishing second to the Italian at Le Mans.

Fabio Quartararo is doing phenomenal things on that Yamaha and is single handedly carrying them. His haul of 102 points so far is more than three times the total of the other Yamahas...combined!

The other Yamaha riders shouldn't even be showing up on Sunday, lol. Darryn was 40+ seconds off the pace, Franco and Dovi 20+... its crazy
 
Not sure if this has been tagged on here before - i recently found the Techtalk series on the MotoGP youtube channel presented by Simon Crafar - highly insightful into the technical side of the series if one is so inclined.

Darryn I can sort of understand. He's still a fledgling in his MotoGP career. Just getting the bike to the finish and not getting involved in incidents should be seen as a win. But Dovi & Franco? They should be doing better.

Grand Prix of Finland postponed to 2023​


The FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports are obliged to announce changes to the 2022 FIM MotoGP™ World Championship calendar.

Homologation works at the KymiRing, together with the risks caused by the ongoing geopolitical situation in the region, have sadly obliged the cancellation of the Finnish Grand Prix in 2022. The current circumstances have created delays and put the ongoing work at the new circuit at risk. All parties have therefore agreed that the track’s debut must be postponed to 2023, when MotoGP™ looks forward to returning to Finland for the first time in four decades.

Disappointing but suppose it makes sense. Can't run the risk of some fanatical Russian rocking up at the race weekend with an arsenal of weapons or a bomb strapped to his chest.
 
A potential seat at Aprilia for either Joan Mir or Alex Rins has been taken off the table with the confirmation that Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Vinales have both signed two year extensions which will see them stay at the Noale factory until the end of 2024. Happy for Aleix but miffed to see Vinales got an extension.
 
Ducati have also confirmed that Jack has no seat at the factory in '23. Ducati know he is negotiating with KTM and are happy for him to go. If he stays he would drop to a satellite team

I would bin either Gardner or Fernandez, put Oliveira in the Tech 3 Satellite team and slot Miller in alongside Brad in the factory setup.
 
On current form, this is very good news for WithU. Article doesn't mention whether they will be sticking with their current line up but if so, will be keen to see what Dovi and Darryn can do with factory spec Aprilia machines at their disposal.
