Hi There...
I have a Toshiba Notebook, with a Labtec Optical Mouse, the notebook has XP,

The mouse cursor hops all over screen when i move the mouse...I mean if i'm moving the mouse down the screen diagonally, the cursor will jump to the top right of the screen...

anyone with ideas??

cool...thought it was the mouse pad!! the mouse looks good but was wondering abt its performance... only mouse i could find on a sunday wen all shops closed... bought at local checkers hyper...:D

Maybe look for an updated driver?

Try cleaning the lazer under the mouse ussay cat hair gets into mine and it starts to skip like a record! :D

well come o think abt it, i've been having this problem since in installed the mouse software. never figured how to use it or configure the extra buttons... lemme try removing and using windows generic driver...

i cleaned the laser more times than i can remember...

Mouse Joke programs

Their is something else that can cause it , and its called a joke program. I have allot of these (get them on the net, Pc formats ect.) and they mess around with your pc. If someone other than you has access to your pc they could of hidden it on your hard drive and set ms config so it runs on startup. to tjek this go to Start / run and type "msconfig". Go to services and look for anything strange , also go to Startup and tjek for strange things there to. If that doesn't work it's probly your software.
Hope that helps!

it sounds like the same problem when u use an optical mouse on a glossy piece of paper with different colours... the mouse tracking cant actually pick up a precise point, hence jumping up and down and all over, same issue when you move a ****ty mouse really quickly from left to right, it jumps all over.
