Spring (2014)

Great riff on the romantic genre, bringing in some science fiction and horror. Reminded me of a twisted Before Sunrise

Really enjoyed that.

I enjoyed it. That last scene at the bar was quite powerful.

Everest 7/10. Some jaw dropping shots in 3D really takes you to the mountain. Something missing tho. Lacks the depth of Captain Phillips.

A WWE Studios movie with The Big Show; prison; murder & all of that. Kinda lame but good for a mindless watch.

Forgot to add about a fair number of plot holes.

Terminator Genisys (2015) 7.5/10

First up this may came across as a skewed review as I am a Terminator fan as well as an Arnie fan. I thought it was a great watch & for the most part stuck to the formula that made the franchise so successful. Nostalgia love it. The alternate timelines was interesting & Jai Courtney is on a bit of a role these days. I'm not entirely convinced on Sarah's role taken by Emilia Clarke; we all know know no one can top Linda Hamilton for that role. So in a nutshell if you a Terminator fan you should enjoy Genisys; it's far more convincing than Salvation.

This is your big screen movie that shouldn't be missed in 3D. Up there with Avatar and Gravity.

Right off the bat you really need to ignore/forgive the many plot holes & unrealistic tendencies. It was fun though & a great Sunday night movie watch. I think The Rock just gets better & better.

Love & Mercy - 7/10.

True-life story of Brian Wilson (of the Beach Boys) which covers the time of recording Pet Sounds and his later struggles with mental illness and the outrageous abuse by his psychologist Eugene Landy, and his rescue by the woman who would become his wife. Jon Cusack isn't the ideal actor for the part but overall a recommended watch. Personally I wish they had spent much more time in the 60s.

So after watching the proper San Andreas with The Rock last night I thought I would watch this B-grade version & poor does it suck. IMDB rating of 1.9. 12.7 earthquake...yeah right. Rubbish CGI; actors all wooden; boring story. Nothing to recommend really.
