I'm planning on going to see it in UAE this weekend. At first I wasn't going to bother becasue I thought it would be cut to ribbons, but apparetly only one short scene with RR in the nude has been clipped.

If you like looking at special effects, this might be one for you, but if you are looking for a cohesive and good story, go elsewhere. Me and SO spent the last half hour trying to find a redeeming feature to latch onto. We were unsuccessful

Il Postino (The Postman - 1994) - 8.5/10. Simple and very charming film about a postman in a backwater Italian town in 1953 who befriends exiled poet Pablo Neruda, and develops a love for poetry.
A wonderful movie. Im due a rewatch soon I think along with Cinema Paradiso.

The 33 - 7/10. Chronicles the story of the trapped Chilean miners. Not enough danger and conflict to be thoroughly engaging.

The Intern - 5/10. Would have been a perfectly banal, affable comedy if Robert De Niro didn't manage to make everyone else's performances look as saccharine and artificial as they actually are, without even making an effort.

My concern with De Niro is that he gets to play De Niro too often. What was his role in this movie? Was he De Niro?

I quite enjoyed it, main criticism was that it was too long. De Niro as always was excellent.

So refreshing to watch something without a formula. A formula that movies these days seem too follow.
Donner but Sybil Shepard was hot. Foster was uncomfortably convincing as a young prostitute. Harvey very convincing as a gay pimp. I'm pretty sure De Niro must be a bit unstable irl.
Fascinating the short journey of an unstable person that is spurned. Ok not everybody will go to that extreme but they go off the rails a bit.
Oh the irony of the 'hero' he gets hailed as in the end. Glad I finally watched this.

Only 7.5? That movie is at least a 9, maybe a 10, in my opinion.

Taxi Driver is better than Shawshank... in my opinion, of course. It has a 99% Rottentomatoes score. At least, it's definitely in the same territory.
