MP5 Player

The term "MP5 player" is just Chinese Marketing BS [they did the same thing with MP4 until the actual file format came out]. To the rest of the world this is any other PORTABLE MEDIA player out there today.

The MP5 player sadly does not open an interdimensional vortex when in use, instead it just sits there obediently playing MP3 and MP4 files just like how all other portable media players do.

Might help if the OP actually elaborated on his/her own experiences in this regard instead of just throwing some vague topic out there into the wild.....

Yes,mp5 is a marketing term by the Chinese that refers to mp4 players that can play video files in their native format.Usually mp4 players come with conversion software.

Only thing new about these MP5s are that they play Realplayer formats, a popular format in China.

Most movies downloaded in China are in that format, so they call it "MP4 +1 more format = MP5"

Seems pretty logical to me :p

Except most media players today don't -only- play MP4s to begin with. My Zune play WMV,3GP and MP4 . The IPod plays that Apple format (H.264) etc etc. And then there's quite a few media players that simply plays anything, DivX/Mpeg...

The amusing part is when the Chinese dubbed the term "MP4 player' , it could not actually play MP4s! ;) .

What is it with the chinese and japanese and real media? Alot my anime is always in that f****** stupid format. I hate it with a passion. Cant explain it.
